Say the state made 300 million a year in taxes from marijuana. ( like Colorado, it goes to their schools I think).

What about if the revenue went to road infrastructure? Bridges, potholes , the loop, etc.

Or higher education? More degree offerings at LSU, better professors

If the state legalized pot then , money which goes to pot dealers would be circulated back into the state spending budget.

I'd support it even if it didn't.

I've seen this played out with gambling and education.

No thanks, and that has nothing to do with not wanting weed legalized. I just don't like being lied to.

The revenue could be split into multiple sources. I'm good with any of education, coastal restoration, roadwork, and healthcare

I'd be all about recreational pot here.

I don't even really care where the tax money goes.

I don’t care if someone smokes that is their business. But this criteria is crazy. They used the same thing to the lottery passed. Funds that state made would go straight to education. Yeah right, look at our schools. It is a nice idea you have but this is Louisiana. The majority of the funds would stolen.

I don't think you should get so caught up in where the taxes go. But from a revenue standpoint it's a good idea

These are the stats from Colorado which isn't that much more populated than Louisiana

Calendar Year
Total Revenue
2014
$67,594,323

2015
$130,411,173

2016
$193,604,810

2017
$247,368,473

Is "coastal restoration" the new code for "politicians' pockets"?

Im afraid what an influx of money would do to the corrupt LA legislature. Pet projects galore
