I find it hilarious that you are claiming a large group of people " don't know what they are talking about". That movie beat you over the head for 2.5 hours with empowering women and giving minorities meaningless sublpots, and you didn't pick up on it.

Nothing wrong with empowering women, but that's not what I go to see Star Wars for.

As for creating token minority roles, it's transparent. If I were black I would honestly feel insulted that Disney thought I was going to be proud of this lame Finn charachter.

Nothing wrong with this if it’s Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, but this is mother fricking Star Wars. Women can have important roles without demeaning the men in the film. If you seriously, seriously take a look at the film you’ll see that every male character is either useless Luke, even in his “moment of glory” is robbed of that because he wasn’t even there, Finn who fails at getting the Code Breaker and then fails at killing himself, Poe, fails at pretty much everything or evil Snoke, Kylo, Hux

And the women in the movie have all of the heroic moments (Asian chicks sister sacrificing herself, Fat Asian then sets animals free, Leia flying through space like Superman, Holdo sacrifices herself, Fat Asian then “saves” Finn. Rey comes through in the end and saves their asses twice, once when she first arrives in the Falcon and then when she lifts the rocks.

I mean come on man. It’s spelled out for you
