Yeah I think a lot of the directors/show runners that Disney puts in charge of these shows just don’t know how to allocate budget all that well. Like there’s no reason a cool premise show like The Acolyte should look like a garbage CW show.

I don’t think people care whether or not there are girls in the shows. I think people care that there is a distinct lack of white males that aren’t bad guys to the degree that it’s very pointed. I’d rather watch the prequels a hundred times than the sequels. Yes the prequels are flawed but if you love Star Wars, there’s plenty to love in those

Yeah Obi Wan had like a $90M budget while Andor had like $250M budget which is insane but it shows in Andor. It feels kind of like a spectacle at times. Obi Wan should have felt like that but never did. The Acolyte doesn’t feel like that, either.
Maybe not every one of their shows needs a $250...

The show doesn’t look bad necessarily but…something just looks off about it. It looks very low budget. From the costumes to the graphics, shot quality. It just looks amateurish. It looks like the Obi Wan show, which we found out later had a pretty low budget for such an important show

Went today as well. Me and about 10 others at noon. I sat in front of an old man and right before the opening, there was the announcement that a sneak preview of The Acolyte would play after the movie
