Let me explain then. And to preface, I was against the O hire, and now, support him. If memory serves, he was hired by Miles as a defensive line coach (a position coach). At the same time, Kevin Steele was hired as DC. Miles replaced Steele with Aranda. O remained a position coach (and if memory further serves, when he was hired by Miles, he was out of coaching.)

Alleva/Alexander botch the coaching situation in the Fall of 2015. Miles was all but fired, Jimbo all but hired, but it fell through. Miles was retained. Then after the Auburn game in 2016, Miles is fired, and the decision was made to elevate O (not Aranda) to interim HC. O seemed awfully prepared to jump into that role ... sure, you can say that is to his credit, but I wonder if he had been having discussions with Alleva or idiot BOS members or whomever runs the clown show at LSU ... and in effect, sabotaged Miles. Am I saying this happened? No. Just wondering.

So, he does OK the rest of 2016 ... Alleva conducts an abortion of a coaching search ("I am the search") and hires Orgeron ... the out of coaching guy come position coach come interim HC come HC. You see any reason why some fans might not be all giddy?

I think the program is headed in the right direction. I like the hire of Brady. Recruiting is great. Last season was a success in my opinion. Yes, beating Alabama is difficult ... but how about putting up at least a couple of points on the scoreboard against them, at home?

Cautiously optimistic. And fully supportive.

He was going to be but was saved by lsu president because of financial optics within the state

Even Miles himself thought he was fired. Stop being obtuse.

He saved his s job vs A$M. He was fired losing two of the first 4 in 2016, two games that were bungled by the coaching staff

No matter how many times you lie about it, Miles wasn't fired for losing three games in a season

I agree with everything you posted.
Ive said dozens of times O is a legit oc away from winning titles at lsu. But thats not good enough. You have to act like his entire tenure has been this epic and new level of success.
2018 was a decent year.
The 2019 class was great.

Let me tell you what I don’t need-to-see on offense to know the Tigers are about to wreck motherfrickers:
1. Returning QB who was great last year, despite missing Spring football
2. A GD stud at backup QB
3. Our RBs. I loved having Brossette stick it out, and he showed up, but if you aren’t excited about this group we have, you aren’t paying attention
4. Offensive line depth and teturning starters, 8 deep not counting Ed Ingram, which I feel we should- 9
5. WRs, we literally have the second coming of Odell and one of my all time faves, Jarvis on deck, and wait for it..... someone to fricking throw it to them.

No, I don’t need the spring game, the practice reports, or any of you to tell me to wait and see. If the NT situation gets on track, which it has to b/c throwing against us will be foolish, this is a playoff team.

The only time we legitimately had a better program than bama was at the beginning of the CLM era...well we see what happened under CLM leadership

LSU/Alabama series from 2005 to 2015: LSU 5 wins - Alabama 7 wins - LSU shutout once

LSU/Alabama series from 2016 to 2018: LSU 0 wins - Alabama 3 wins - LSU shutout twice

Doesn't look like we're doing much better under CEO leadership.

Why was he on the hottest of hot seats after 2015 rodger?

Why was he carried off on his players shoulders after a home game against A&M in the regular season?

Why did alleva have to have a press conference after a&m?

Losing three in a row in blowout fashion tends to put a guy on the hot seat.

He saved his job

O thought we were a playoff team in 2017 too. We lost to a mid major.

Why Rodger? Why would he be on the hot seat for losing 3 games if thats not why he was fired?
Why would a hot seat be necessary if losing 3 games wasnt an issue?
Be careful...... youre about to shite on your own stance.

Earl...I know you're not dense enough to believe that O was going to suddenly start beating Saban.

Why? 3 losses dont get you fired at lsu why would it get you on the hotseat rodger?
If miles continuing to lose 3 games isnt what got him fired then he wouldnt have been on the hotseat after 3 losses rodger.
Remember 10 wins is acceptable rodger.
10 wins in 2010,2011,2012,2013,and 2015.
Why would he be on the hotseat? 3 losses at lsu is acceptable rodger.

You're right Red. I don't expect LSU to beat Bama any time soon. But it would be nice to score a few points on them in Tiger Stadium.

Lsu had a higher power ranking.
They had lost 3 of their last 6 rodger.
Just like lsu.
He was 4 and 0 against A&M rodger.

To me....losing those 3 games was an issue....especially after starting 7-0 and raising expectations thru the roof. Losing to Bama was one thing...getting azz raped by Arky at home and then basically not showing up for the Ol Piss game was inexcusable and warranted immediate dismissal.
I would have canned him then and there....no saving his job after the TAM game.

Point taken. But if we are going to beat them, its going to take a completely different mindset on offense to do it. Some kind of game plan that is waaaaayyyyy out of the box!
