Fractions of 12, 16, 32, 64, and 128 are easier to work out in your head in the imperial system.
Fractions of 10 are actually a little harder. For example a quarter of 10 is 2.5. A quarter of 12 is 3. A third of 10 is 3.3333333333.... A third of 12 is 4.

The metric system uses constants that work in the universe...
English system is manmade.
