I’ve never worn them to a funeral.
I am, however, completely unable to wear them for 10 minutes without snagging them on something and getting a huge run, which is very trashy. I’m just one of those people who can’t wear them no matter how cold it is

Ask your wife if this would be acceptable. That's a black dress with a high neckline and those are not bare legs.

I feel like the dead person won’t care and the mourners shouldn’t notice or care and the people there just to make a quick appearance shouldn’t care either.

It’s not so much the hosiery, as it is generational. The under 30ish female is less likely to own a tasteful black dress anymore. The do have a couple they wear to da club. I always get a kick out of them at funerals in the mid thigh mini dress with the 3 inch heels. That’ll be where I park my car.

bare legs offend the death gods. if you have bare legs at a funeral the dead person is stuck in purgatory forever. everyone knows that.
