I have a 410 single shot it’s just a hammer action and don’t like the thought of him having to let the hammer down just yet
I let a hammer slip on a 20 ga single shot when I was probably 7-8. Blew a nice hole in the ground right in front of me. Forever ingrained in my mind what a shotgun would do to a human and my gun safety went through the roof and I still envision a blown off head when duck hunting with others.
Be careful guys. People get complacent and think that 30,40,50,60 years of gun handling means it’ll never happen to them. Famous last words amirite

Mine hunts with that same Mossberg now, but that damn safety is really tough to turn off. I have trouble at times getting it to go to fire. I was thinking about getting him a different gun bc of this.
Have the 410 mossberg and had same issue with safety. Unscrew that safety and there is a ball that sits in a spring. That spring is too long. Get some side cutters and trim it down to your liking. Works smooth now
