Stayed in the Times Square Doubletree a few years ago and it was very nice. Not sure if I’ve stayed at any others though.

Not everyone is super-autistic about facility age like this board is.
I think it's a natural reaction to the mess that is Orleans Parish. I dig that, but honestly some of those super-new places creep me out. You can go to Cumming, GA and stay in a hotel that's 6 months old, but it feels kind of cold and pointless to me.

I like an old historic or well-aged hotel
I don't like 90s new builds that are junky and gross (which describes a lot of Crown Plaza hotels).
I also think CP suffers because trashy/hoodrat people think it's nice, only hastening its decline
