You don't abandon your team like this in the normal due course of retirement decisions. Not the day before NSD.

I see they have 22 3 stars, none higher. MSU is fricked.

Damn! Mark really stuck it to Sparty.

I love it. Cold hearted business decision.

No one would’ve spared him any tears if they had fired him on Jan 14th

His offenses, especially at QB, have been bad ever since Connor Cook graduated.

MSU was never really known for getting high profile guys to East Lansing. Besides the majority of their class was locked in during the early signing period. I do know they were looking for an RB out of GA. I would assume he would look elsewhere now.

If you’re an MSU fan the good seasons he gave were worth it.

He's pulling a perfect "Meyer Maneuver". Get paid and get out of Dodge before your shady dealings get you nailed.

The fact that he took MSU to the playoffs is remarkable itself because I don’t see guys knocking on the door to go to MSU for football.

I think his 2013 rose bowl team was better than the 2015 playoff team

No it's not. Dude is old.

Only a few loons who can't breathe or live a life without coaching want to coach into their 70's.

And we all saw how they died immediately after stopping coaching...Bryant, JoePa.

JoePa died due to being harass over and over and that took a toll on his health. That is what killed him!

Never understood the love for this guy, he’s an average coach at best.
