He did not say "It's not serious."

He said "Don't be afraid. Don't let it dominate your life."

That is a good message and exactly what we need from a leader. A positive message.

Are you afraid of heart disease? Are you afraid of Cancer? Do you let those fears dominate your life? I bet the answer is of course not. Yet we are all much more likely to die from one of those diseases than covid.

I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!

Not really, a real leader would not have made it about himself. "I will be leaving the walter reed hospital...

"I feel better than I did 20 years ago"

"Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life" is not a responsible response a leader should say.

Should people live in fear? No. But should people be responsible? Yes. A real leader would have said something along the lines of "This is something we still need to be aware of, but we can't allow it to stop our lives so we have to be responsible while we are out doing the things we enjoy".

By using "we" it is somewhat more unifying, but what he said will create an even bigger divide because you will have those who think that its no big deal then you are going to have the other side who isn't going to believe him because.. Well, he isn't known for being the most truthful person in the world.

His message isn't something a real leader would send out.

I watched my dad die from heart disease, and my gradnmother die from cancer. Yes, I am afraid of being diagnosed with both. Neither are highly contagious like Covid is, so you comparison is stupid to begin with.

I don't think there are many, if any, people that are allowing Covid to dominate their lives. Perhaps some of the doctors and nurses that go to the hospital to treat people with everyday do. Do I take precautions to avoid catching it? Yes. Do I take precautions to try and prevent spreading it in the case I do have it? Also yes. The latter is something this WH hasn't done, as evidenced by the nearly 30 people that have been at the WH in the last week that have tested positive for it.

He just spent 3 nights in the hospital.

It was serious enough to in fact dominate his life
