It's those ridiculous haircuts.

It's not easy chain smoking cigarettes all day

I don't believe those ages...
Posted on 5/25/21 at 9:57 am to rocket31
because you were younger then, and now you not

Hair and clothing styles are drastically different and younger looking.

All of the 30's I could explain with hair style and clothing, but that dude who's 58 looks fricking 75.

I’m Ted’s age in that pic, and he looks 15 years older than me

The aesthetics of the time period don't help (hair, clothing, etc...), also some people just look older, and some people look younger. I have a cousin who is 42 and could pass for someone in their late 20's. I'm 33, and people think I'm in my mid 20's. But, at the same time, I have friends my age who look like they are mid-late 30's.

Nutritional standards are better now, even though Americans are fatter. We also have significantly better pre-natal care, which has lifelong consequences.

People matured in their teens, worked more physical jobs.

Jesus Christ... I'm about the same age as Cliff and he looks like he could be my dad right now

80s was a decade of cocaine and cigarettes, especially for celebrities. Add in all the popular pre-packaged foods & tanning in baby oil and you can add 10-15 years to the way anyone looks.

A better comparison is looking at yearbooks from the 80's and 90s to today's.

Since about mid 90s (see Friends), it is rare to have anyone who doesnt look like a model star in a show.
They cast mostly attractive but also kinda normal looking people back in the day.
Also, we sure about the Coach's age there? And that's just a bad pic of Diane.

IMO, only Cliff and Coach look older than their age. Cliff looks 47 and coach looks 67.

Norm and that ugly waitress was 34? Get out of here.

Shelley Long had a bangin body back then. That scene in Night Shift when she was making breakfast…
