I watched 3/4 of the episode while doing some other things so I need to go back and rewatch but from what I saw, it really was not funny.

I agree. I think it set up a solid premise for the rest of the season but the episode was not good

5 mins in, I backed into another car right where Larry and Jeff noticed Dennis Swibell. It was pouring down rain. Exchanged info and they never did anything.

Yeah, I'm still excited for the rest of the season, last season had a few all-timers.

Yeah definitely not one of the better episodes especially for a season opener.
Still had some laughs though. Jon Ham needs to be a regular.

Wasn't a great episode, but I laughed a few times.

Larry David is a loathsome human being

Every season has a central story that weaves throughout Larrys project/life change
Albert Brooks , Leon, both look promising

Why, because his politics are liberal?

Nobody’s mentioned one of the better lines I can remember in the entire series when Larry’s being extorted. “But I know Marsha Lifshitz is that girl, right over there, eating those leftover tacos”.
Then when she’s reading for the part and the lines talk about how she’s too thin…I liked the episode. Never a bad episode of Curb. But any decent lawyer would argue there’s a fence around Larry’s back yard and the city ordinance doesn’t say how close the fence needs to be. So you’d never risk a Netflix deal for that.

Larry running into the glass was hysterical, the rest of the episode didn't do much for me

Was I the only one thinking marsha was going to walk into the glass door after the audition? This would then somehow get Larry out of having to hire her based on the central theme if people not being able to look at someone the same again so much so that even her own father would agree?
