2017 - played 6 games
2018 - played 1 game (redshirt season)
2019 - played 10 games
2020 - played 3 games (COVID)

He has 2 seasons remaining including 2021. He cannot redshirt this year because he did in 2018. He may qualify for a medical redshirt this year if he does not play. However, if he is able to play and just chooses to sit out the remainder of the season, that would likely disqualify him from getting the medical exception.

Of course, I'm sure he could find a doctor who would say he is not medically ready and needs to sit out the rest of the season.

He seems to like O, so I'm guessing he tries to play a few games this year, then see where he stands with the next coach.

It doesn’t matter. Including this season Brennan has 2 to play 2. Next season is his last season whether he plays in 2021 or not.

This is correct.

For sure. He was on the sideline the beginning of the year. Haven't seen even a glancing shot if him with the team in the last few weeks. I think he's checked out and only waiting to enter the portal till after the season.

only so because the culture at LSU is so shitty and self serving that guys will opt out, not play through pain, or take a 5th round grade and leave.

Stingley could have played every single defensive snap this year or not a single one and he was entering the draft in 2022....it's not even a question.

Now if you are questioning the fact that his injury and surgery this year are legitimate that is a sticky road to go down in my opinion.

Where would he go that would give him the opportunity to improve his draft grade like he could at LSU next year?

Unless he has already been told that he won't be the starter next year....which means nothing if he was told that by Zero or anyone on his staff.

I think the kid can be good for LSU. I think he needs to at least see who the coach will be and talk to that person before he enters the portal.

The fact of the matter is I think that everyone in their right mind realizes that Max Johnson simply can't get it done at a high level consistently.

I’m saying if he was at Bama, and all other factors were identical, there’s likely at least a 50/50 shot he returns. We’ve seen Saban do this over and over again. At LSU, he leaves as soon as he’s draft eligible regardless of his draft grade.

And FY for making me say his name.

If he is smart , fishing

He know the route tree for the wide receivers take a hour to develop and the o line blocks for 2 to 3 seconds.

Why would he want to risk injury for this clown show

Players want to play. Most aren't losers like yourself and consider quitting.

He gains ZERO not playing every second he can. It's what he's lived his entire life for.

Stop trying to make Myles Brennan happen

I'm not trying to make anything happen, 51,000 post-guy. I am just asking if anyone knows if he has recovered from his injury and is able to practice. After three pages of hot takes, it seems like no one knows. If anyone does now, I'm interested in knowing the answer.

I seem to recall that's what he was doing this pre-season when he broke his arm.

No you won't without an Oline.

Our Oline is 2/3 yrs away from being anything decent.

If we get a big time offensive coach like Riley or Kiffin, they could really harness Brennan's arm talent. Kid can make every throw on the field.

Brennan isnt athletic enough to even see the field in a Riley or Kiffin offense.

Lots of shite has happened in the past that won't happen in this scenario. You cite two players who have missed 3 and 4 seasons of eligibility with injuries.

Also, Brennan's redshirt was not due to injury, which is an important factor.

You are able to use a medical redshirt and a regular redshirt in your college career. It is the only way to get past the five year clock. Covid extended the clock anyway. So i don't see this happening.
There is precedence for it though. There have been many six year players before covid. There have been 12 seven year players. Brennan has never used a medical redshirt. So your earlier statement of not having a scenario is completely false. Although, IMO it is unlikely.

You are given one redshirt year. They have made exceptions due to extraordinary situations. In virtually all of those situations that I am aware of the redshirt year was used due to injury, and they then allowed an additional medical redshirt.

I don't know of any situation where a redshirt was taken for a non-injury reason and then a medical redshirt was later taken, resulting in a 6th year.
