Seems to be the exact opposite of our last 2 coaches in every way. Which is everything I’ve ever wanted.

That has more to do with Baylor than it does him

2015 - 46
2016 - 40
2017 - 40
2018 - 29
2019 - 35
2020 - 50

Also i think having a defensive minded coach would work well in a league dominated by offensive minds.

Saban is a defensive mind in this league. Seems like it has worked well for him at both of his stops in the SEC.

I would think Grimes would be his target to bring on as OC, unless of course Baylor hired him as the HC

If Baylor keeps Grimes you would think he would target Briles or Herman as OC.

Regardless I have full faith Aranda would make a good hire there.

He reminds me a lot of Saban in this respect. Not saying he is Saban, just seems like he’s on the same path.

I think Grimes would be their pick for HC if Aranda left. Just a guess.

I’m surprised Herman is only an analyst right now. Aranda and Herman would be an awesome pairing.

At BAYLOR! If you can get a top 30 recruiting class at Baylor, you will be looked at by the NCAA for major recruiting violations

Not saying he will be the next coach, but this argument is asinine

My take on the guy is that he’s not insecure. He appears to be widely respected for his knowledge of the game. He has proven he can field a consistent D and will be smart and hire a real Offensive mind.

Well said. Add in that he's one sexy SOB and what more could you want?

Yeah, I'm straight, but if you don't think Dave is sexy, you're just homophobic.

I dont know about Briles, but I think Herman would be in play to boost his stock for his next coaching gig though.

Shawn Bell on his staff right now as QB coach would be an interesting name. He has worked his way up and is highly thought of offensive guy. He's coached TE/OL and now QB.

Rhule had originally hired him at Baylor in 2016 out of the Texas HS ranks, much like Joey McGuire who just got hired at Texas Tech as HC. Bell is a former QB at Baylor.

Yeah I don't know that level of detail on the Baylor coaching staff.

Ive been reading bunchie.

Lot of LSU connections on his staff

Grimes, of course.

Eric Mateos, their OL coach, was a GA at LSU under Grimes. He is an absolute stud of an OL coach.

Dennis MeatBall Johnson is of course the DL coach.

In 2020, Jorge Munoz was their passing game coordinator. And i had forgotten he also had Austin Thomas on staff as a Sr Associate.

Ron Roberts, the DC, has a long line of Louisiana connections, too. He was the HC at Southeastern for 6 years, and did a 2 year stint at ULL as DC.
