The better part of that is that Aranda was probably what was holding that shite together anyway and he knows it.

He is not my number 1 choice.

But if LSU hired him I would be perfectly fine and even happy with it.

He is just a damn good coach, that would be solid, not embarrass the program, and get the D running on all cylinders.

He's also the opposite of Ed O and Les Miles, which would be VERY welcome. He's a smart, thoughtful guy.

And a good coach.

well that's why O would take passive aggressive at Dave when he could in the media. His insecurity knew a segment of the fan base thought/knew Dave was the better coach

Aranda is highly intelligent, calm and collected, a brilliant defensive mind, a stickler for order, a proven developer of players, and highly respected by his players and his peers. Plus, he's a young up-and-comer, and will be a household name at his next stop. That'll be likely either LSU or USCal.

That's why I want tFolder back.

A competent coach that is smart, has his team ready to play, and compete.

I don’t give two shits about Ed. Let’s move on and look to the future rather then wasting time and energy in looking at the past.

And beyond being a good coach, he is a coach who has shown willingness to grow and evolve. Last year, he was one of the worst in the country in terms of managing FG/Punt/4th down strategy--consistently being hyper-conservative and consistently leaving points on the board as a result. Basically, he was head coaching like a defensive coordinator. This year, he has completely changed up and consistently has shown smart, modern, aggressive decision-making ability.

The important thing isn't even conservative football versus aggressive football--it's the fact that he had a very clear weakness in his approach, and he has made a deliberate, conscious effort to improve upon that shortcoming. This is the same quality that makes Saban the GOAT.

I would want Aranda, because he is a highly intelligent football coach.

Honestly, to me, these are some of the biggest Pros. I'd love a no nonsense kind of coach after what we've seen for the last 15 years.

Just like how Jimbo-stans try to shite on his OC choice last year. Guess what: he made a change after 1 year and it paid dividends.

Guys like Jimbo won't change.

i will say I was very curious as to how Dave would handle offense but he seems extremely trusting of his OC and very hands off there.

basically, let your OC do his job.

and I'm quite sure Grimes is happy about that too.

And he realized what they were doing last year wasn’t working and quickly fixed it (in part by sending munoz back here lol)

Aranda has a high ceiling and he is yet to reach it. Fun to see that he’s having such early success while still growing as a head coach.
