Exactly. How is this a failure?

It's only not a failure if some of our other elite candidates are still on the table. They may not be.

There also was a report SW did not tell a single booster who the next coach would be.

There's no way Scott can go out and fundraise to put together a $100 mill offer without telling a single fricking booster.

"Hey guys give me your money. Trust me you'll love the hire"

it’s Woodward’s job to convince him to come here. That’s literally what he’s paid to do. We could hire any accountant and lawyer off the street to handle the financial details.

It’s not LSU, or the talent, or the money. It’s the state. It’s the city. It is just not a disentangle place for people not from LA to raise their children. You better try and get Napier and just prey.

If Dellenger believes this he has absolutely no credibility going forward. This isn’t even close to what happened.

Yep backed out…hello darkness my old friend. It’s Jimbo and Herman all over again. Thought Woodward would succeed where Alleva failed. This is the worst. Can’t help but laugh though.

Last night in the suite, we were all told it was a done deal. Monday was the announcement. We were all asked to make appearances at a reception after.

Stoops name was mentioned as Scott 's back up . We were told mot to worry because we had Riley. One Administration Official was told point blank they better not hire Stoops. Many that wrote checks are extremely pissed off right now.

We all found out Riley bailed on us at the same time last night.

Then you arent really an insider, because Riley never showed much interest from the beginning. Your suite mates got caught up with the rumors on here and ran with it

If Woodward shot his wad on Riley and completely missed on Aranda, who would've come back to LSU in a heartbeat, then he's a pretty crappy AD in all honesty.

That's where I'm at honestly. The next coach better be one of Campbell, Aranda, or Napier if we spent so long flirting with Riley. Or Jimbo I guess but that's also not happening. Missing out on all the top realistic candidates because you spent so long chasing a dream is doing a crap job.

Seems like this board pours gasoline on rumors and forces coaches to make decisions publicly earlier than they’d otherwise like to.
This is fan fiction. You aren’t real
This:TBL is full of crap. If he is legit, then he was played or used to false-flag. None of that timing seems real. Riley (or any other coach worth anything) would not be such a massive distraction to the team they’ve poured themselves into for a decade when they still have to prepare for a championship game and a top-tier bowl game.

I don’t know if he’s coming or not, and I don’t care. But I am confident that WHOMEVER it is will be a top coach and worth all the game-playing and misdirection by SW. I think he’s using boosters, the media, this board, and quite possibly Riley himself to keep everyone second-guessing until the boom.

SW better put a full court press on these 2 if Riley is in fact out.

I’m starting to think that hiring a college coach is mostly just a crapshoot.

Or it’s about the school you’re going to. LSU is second behind Bama in NC’s since the BCS started and did it with 3 different coaches. The only schools close to us either have their coach already or have hired multiple failed coaches the last few years. Seems like a no brainer if you’re an aspiring head coach.

Where does this narrative come from? It’s not how it works.
