I'm near the beginning of Act 3 and it's taking a lot of self control to hold off binging the game today to wait for the next "big patch" that's supposed to come out this week

We don't know all the specifics yet, but articles like this (google and reddit will give you tons more) will give you a quick overview: LINK /

Thanks! And do we think a DLC is coming?

There are rumblings that there will “probably” but future DLC, but nothing has been confirmed, and it’s likely to be a significant wait if it does come. Not something I would concern myself with or, for example, delay another playthrough over.

Thanks. Recommendations on what to do for a second play-through? I was a paladin in my first that broke his vows.

Or should i checkout Divinity Original Sin 2 first since I haven’t played that,

A vow breaking pally is an interesting choice for a first play through

Let me ask this: which parts of your playthrough did you most enjoy, and which parts did you most not enjoy/felt like you were missing out on?

I honestly really enjoyed Act 2 and 3. My companions that I played the most with were Gale, Shadowheart, and Lazael. I had Astarion with me but didn’t use him at all after Act 1. Karlach was never a companion and Wyl left me very early on.

I should have asked a better phrased question: what specific aspects of your playthrough. Did you find yourself wanting to deal more damage or wanting to take more of a support role? More ranged or melee? Do you want to be more or less of the face of the group? More or less of the one doing the sneaking/lockpicking/stealing? Etc, etc, etc. Any party members you wish you got to spend more time with? Any of those in your last party you don't think you can live without?

More damage, but definitely a different class this time.

More ranged or melee?

Ranged since i was melee last time.

Do you want to be more or less of the face of the group?

I was completely the face this time so maybe less? I’ll take recommendations here.

More or less of the one doing the sneaking/lockpicking/stealing?

I was doing this a TON in act 3. Love doing it.

Any party members you wish you got to spend more time with? Any of those in your last party you don't think you can live without?

Story wise I got a ton out of Shadow
Heart, Lazel, and Gale. I used them all well in battle but want to try new companions out.

Thanks for this!

Don't know why I didn't include this in the last post: primarily magic based, primarily non-magic based, or a even-ish split between the two?

ETA: What was your race last playthrough?

Before we get into the weeds on everything else, what's your kneejerk reaction to a ranger: LINK

Non magic ranged, can spec heavy into stealth/sleight of hand/etc, pretty solid range of workable races and sublasses, not necessarily a face but is passable in some circumstances, but is a master of observing clues about their surroundings so is great as the lead "scout" your party follows.

In a vacuum, it's not the most popular class, but it feels like it would suit what you seem to be looking for.

No shame at all in going with the stereotypical wood elf stealth archer. It’s a cliché for a reason.

You can then easily run Wyll as your warlock (and probably your face when absolutely needed), Karlach as your tank barbarian, and then get to pick whoever you want for your fourth, though Shadowheart is hard to pass up, especially if you spec her into healing.
