A new patch just dropped that, among other things, enables crossplay

There's also a new Aberration event that runs from today until March 5th. So now I need to farm some corrupted shards since there are new corrupted weapons available too.

Can I take a break from spreading democracy to participate in this event!?

Will I like this game if I’m a huge Souls fan?

I think most Souls fans like it (myself included), but even though it's called "Dark Souls with guns," I don't think that's entirely accurate.

Yes, there's a stamina bar, rolling/i-frames, "bonfires," "estus flasks," co-op (but no invasions from other players), a million different builds, mats used for upgrading weapons, etc. But there are some major differences (e.g., there are difficulty settings, different rewards for beating the game on different difficulties, no penalty for dying, leveling up is different, etc.). Also, there are far more puzzles in Remnant than in the Souls games.

I think the biggest difference is that there is a Campaign mode and an Adventure mode, and the worlds and "events" that take place in them are randomized.

So, Campaign mode is a regular playthrough where you advance through different worlds to get to the end of the game. The "events" are static in your Campaign. Some bosses, worlds, etc. won't appear in your Campaign.

That's what Adventure mode is for. As an example, say you got World X in your Campaign and World X can spawn 5 different bosses. Say you want the loot drop from Boss 2, but Boss 1 spawned in your Campaign instead. Adventure mode let's you replay World X as many times as you want searching for Boss 2. A lot of bosses also have different rewards for alt kills, so you can reroll the world and kill the boss a different way to get different loot.

It can be a bit annoying on console because you have to constantly reroll worlds in Adventure mode looking for specific drops. On PC, there's a mod called "Save Guardian" that tells you what bosses/drops will appear in each world you roll.

Both Remnant 1 and 2 are great games, although 2 basically improved on everything from 1.

Happy to answer any questions you have about the games!

Gonna put it on the list to play! Thanks for the details. How many hours does it take to beat on average? Are there side quests?

If you just want to run through and only do main objectives, I'd say less than 20 hours. But I think most people like to explore every inch of every world and reroll worlds multiple times in Adventure mode looking for different bosses and loot to perfect builds.

I think part of the appeal is that two people each playing their own Campaign are almost certainly going to have wildly different experiences (i.e., different worlds, different bosses, different events, different puzzles, etc.).

I have 130 hours in Remnant 2 and there is a ton of stuff I haven't found yet (including one weapon modifier I'm dying to find so I can finish a build )

If you are asking how long it takes to do a complete playthrough of a single timeline. For a first time playthrough, probably like 10+ hours though since you will want to explore and complete all the optional stuff for each world. But each world has two different world tile sets, and each tile set has the capability to spawn different optional dungeons. So to truly experience everything will take over 50+ hours for sure. I was experiencing new stuff even after 100 hours of play time.

Just started a challenger build. Any advice on what to play with weapon wise? I've been leveling the shite out of the shotgun I was given and a pistol.

Is it your first time playing? Which difficulty level did you select? Which world did you roll first in your Campaign?

When you start out, I'd honestly just play with whatever gun feels good (although a lot of people who pick Challenger like to do melee builds). Once you spend 10 trait points and unlock your second archetype slot, then you can start figuring out a total build and what weapons, relics (and relic shards), rings, and amulets are best based on your build.

Great starting world. Probably has the greatest number of random world events that can spawn and getting the Nightweaver means you can use the web throughout your campaign to transform quest items into weapons, relics, amulets, etc.

Man Holy shite you aren't lying. I've got the shocking orb mod and an amulet that gives 20% shock damage and kinda melt the lesser characters.

I played, and really liked, the original. I thought it would be to “strange” for a sequel.

And it’s on Gamepass. Awesome.

Took me a solid 3 hours or so. I’d try to take as little damage as possible in the first phase otherwise I’d purposely die and restart. So many times I’d have her 1 shot before the second phase then get hit by her dive bomb attack. I was the Challenger archetype without a secondary though.

The 2nd DLC released today: The Awakened Kingdom.

I’ve played through half so far and the new enemies have been interesting. There was also a lot up balance changes to weapons, gear, and skills. Still a fun game to play.

I'm pissed that they nerfed my build. I don't understand why nerfs are necessary in PvE games. Who cares if I'm overpowered? Let me play how I want to play. It's especially annoying for a game like this where it's much more difficult to put together builds because the worlds are procedurally generated, and if you play on console, you don't have access to the save guardian mod to check which items/events spawned when you rolled the world.

Just when I was getting over the nerfs in Hellsdivers, I get fricked by Remnant nerfs
