I have a hard time seeing the demand for this.

Normally I'd agree, but several months ago I was playing through NieR Replicant, and while I loved the story, characters, etc., I thought the battles were a slog to get through. Luckily, that game has an "Auto-Battle" mode where AI takes over for all the battles.

I honestly don't think I would have finished the game without that option Plus, it was pretty cool to see the AI use all sorts of combos that I would never be able to pull off

Ai, farm this character to max level for me.

X 100

Hey, random kid with daddies money and a need for instant gratification. I can give you a max level character for $20.

Sold!

Honestly would get some use in MMOs but they'll probably ban it with a quickness. I played a lot of Lord of the Rings online in college where you had to complete deeds that were kill 300 of this type of creature in this zone to level up a trait that gave stats to your character. Also collecting crafting material was a mindless slog as well.

Not to mention they sell level skips now that I believe are ~60 bucks of in game currency.

The idea doesn’t surprise me, but getting a patent for it would a bit. It’s simply not novel. Bot programs have been around forever. Shifting from code to AI doesn’t strike me as sufficient to justify patent protection. But who knows.

they should patent a system that will post video game thoughts/reviews/etc on behalf of td012.

Makes sense. Automating specific tasks is a good game option.

But if I'm playing a game I want to be making at least some decisions. Otherwise it's a movie.

With how many people choose to watch people play games rather than playing or experiencing it themselves, I imagine this is trying to appeal to those people who can have a similar experience. I can see people letting the AI take control on a hard boss or puzzle they can't solve.

Not something I would use, but I know of many who would use it.

More proof younger generation sucks . They would not have survived gaming in the 80s and 90s.

Man there are YouTube channels where people run computer v computer football games in an attempt to guess how actual football games will end up, and people watch that crap.

YouTube and other streaming content creators are probably foaming at the mouth for this. The AI does all the work, we record and make money off the videos? Nice.

WoW had gold farmers as far back as release. The only difference is that it would be AI instead of some person in a Chinese sweatshop.

But for this, would they not still have to "buy" the game? Lets Plays on youtube are free.

Would have been handy when leveling up my characters and materia on FFVII when I was getting ready to fight Ruby and Emerald weapon.
