Too late bro. Should have got on the bus Gus should have made a different plan Stan. Hurley and Underwood all we need.

LSU is not getting Sayin. He appears to be headed to OSU. LSU already has good talent in the QB room and just needs to develop them into elite QBs.

Then the next kid rumors spread about is Air Noland. Day's personally selected qb for the '24 cycle.

I agree with LifeAquatics take. An elite in '25 is a better fit for us with Nuss all but locked in this season. No reason to cause any hint of a rift with the 24 timeline. If we get burned by Underwood it is what it is. Kelly and company are going about this particular discussion the right way if the Sayin rumors are true. Can't expect the kids to be loyal to you if you're not loyal to them.

Timing is everything. Underwood's and Nussmeier's timelines line up perfectly.

Even if Nuss stays another year, I don't think Underwood would leave, depending on where his development is at.

Spending his true freshman season backing up Nuss and competing with Collins and Hurley will only make him better, and more prepared for when he does take over as a sophomore, or red shirt frosh.

Remember Hurts in that national championship game against GA and the 2nd half with Tua ...
Nuss stays until '25, we blow out other teams and if Underwood is as acclaimed, he WILL get on the field his 1st year, start 2 years then go 1st round.

Imagine LSU taking Sayin. He sits behind Nuss in 2024. Nuss returns and he has to sit behind Nuss in 2025 so Sayin hits the transfer portal. Hurley probably transfers too. Thus we lose out on Sayin, Underwood as well as Hurley.

Good decision not to pursue Sayin imo.

This will probably bite us in the arse down the road, wouldn’t surprise me at all before December signing period he decommits and signs with Michigan if Harbaugh stays.

I dunno, if he goes Super Sayin we will be regretting it.

It would me

1) Michigan isn’t coming close to Underwood’s NIL ask
2) Underwood doesn’t want to play in that offense
3) Underwood lives an hour away from Ann Arbor and has spent less hours on that campus than LSU’s since the Splash Party

The only thing I have doubts about is if Underwood doesn’t make it in and in hindsight you could have gotten Sayin. Now this is all hypothetical as we cannot look into the future but what if we make a hire at OC that isn’t Sloan and Sloan bolts therefore Underwood bolts. I’m just saying nothing is guranteed here. Just interesting thinking about all the moving parts that are in play. Personally I would grab Sayin if I could and let the chips fall where they may. If we could get the best OC out there a complete wizard, I would go that route knowing it wouldn’t be popular here..

With spots as tight as they are, there is zero reason to bring in another backup QB. Doesn’t really matter who may or may not be on the team next year.

I would rather have Sayin than hurley but it was really just truly a hypothetical. Having Sayin would run off some qbs.

We all would and Sayin had his chance to make that happen last year. He chose Alabama who lost their hof coach and the new staff took another kid in his class and now he's in limbo. We moved on, took Hurley, changed forward into 25 chasing Underwood and MacIntyre and got Underwood. If something happens that loses us Underwood we will have to worry about that then. Long year ahead to worry about that. The eggshells these staffs have to walk on with kids now are plentiful.

No guarantees Underwood sticks. Who knows what happens in the next year. You take him if he wants in period. Just Sayin.
