In his last 4 appearances, albeit very brief appearances, Cam has gone 2 2/3 innings, given up 1 hit, 3 K, and most importantly only 1 BB.

He seems to be gaining confidence with every appearance and getting all his pitches over for strikes. I know Jay has been taking it very slow with this kid, but how long before we see him make a relief appearance in a conference game?

I appreciate how they are bringing him along, and hope he does as well.

By the end of the season he might be able to throw 2 actual innings

But honestly I do hope to see him in a conference game in the next few weekends, I think he's earned a look at this point.

They should run him out there to start on a Sunday. See what he’s made of.

I think most of us had lofty and probably unrealistic expectations for him this year. The talent is abundantly clear, he just needs time to put it all together. I still think by the end of the season, he could be a key piece coming out the pen.

Sounds like a really dumb idea.

I’d start by getting him in an SEC game with a comfortable lead before throwing him to the wolves on a Sunday. Similar to how Les ruined Jarrett Lee, that’s what can happen to a young pitcher when he’s not ready

Granted, I'm not saying run him out there in the 8th or 9th of a one run game. But I think bringing him in against a lefty or two in the middle innings, regardless of the score, will probably be his next step in the process.

All I know is, the more I see him on the mound, the more I want to see.

it’s interesting to see how Jay handles the staff.

Clealry he sees Johnson as a matchup pitcher more than a long reliever right now, but i would love to see more out of him.

Kade is being forced to come out of the pen. He hasn’t been anywhere near as sharp out of the pen as he was as a starter, so I think you’ll keep see ming him get light work midweek to get used to bullpen routines

I love how he handled the righty pinch hitters last night, even if it was just SELA.

I'd like Anderson and Cam to own midweek so Coleman can be used on the weekends. I know they're taking it slow with Cam. I want those 2 to kill it but I know you have to be careful because loss of confidence can be a bitch.

Why would you want the worse pitcher of Anderson and Coleman to pitch on the weekends?

Well we wouldn't want to get 10 run ruled on a Sunday, now would we?

For his brief outing last night, he lived up to the press clippings.

Coleman has 12 walks in 15.2 IP this year. He's been hyper inconsistent to say the least. Came in an 8-2 UF lead on Sunday only to give up 2 dingers and 3 runs in 2 innings to put that game away for sure for UF. Prior to that he pitched against LT mid-week where he walked 3 guys in 1 inning.

He was fine last night actually starting an inning

He’s been brought in twice mid-inning & matched up vs a RH. Hasn’t ended well either time

Raises hand.

And I would still rather run him out there to start Sundays over Hurd. I understand that my opinion is crazy.

Have been pulling for Javen since I saw him pitch at Aggy as a Fr in relief of Marceaux. Seemed like it was all coming together for him down the '21 stretch.

And now, I question if he's ever gonna get all the back.

I know he gave up a HR and a double, but I thought Moffett looked great last night. I thought he threw better last night than he did in some early outings that had better outcomes.
