Defending champs should automatically qualify for tourney

It’s ridiculous that this team is in such danger of missing the tournament due to losing almost everyone and playing in the best conference in baseball.
There’s been improvement, and anyone who has ever watched a game of baseball knows there aren’t 64 better teams.

What’s so crazy about the idea that the team that wins the whole thing should be guaranteed a minimum 4 seed?
I think it’s dumber to give auto bids to the winners of pathetic conferences - I promise you this LSU team would have a better chance of winning a regional than any team from the SWAC, Miz Valley etc.

only thing I would advocate is why penalize sec teams for playing the schedule they have to play every year while giving automatic berths to small conferences as bid stealers
That's my only gripe with both basketball and baseball tourneys
Look at LSU non conf record
LSU would still mop the floor with 3/4 the field
the sec is so competitive now that really good teams are getting shortchanged
this season is on LSU though, no reason not to at least be 500 in sec every year

This is exactly what you get when you have parents naming their kid Cashapp or Beyblade, spending tens of thousands a year on travel ball, so they can finish 10th in a tournament and get a plastic ring every weekend.
This years team doesn’t deserve to get in this years tournament based on what last years team accomplished. The 64 teams that deserve a spot will be in and that’s that. Could you imagine a team like Coastal Carolina not getting in the tournament the year they won bc a crappy defending champion took their spot?

Why do we even want to make the postseason? To travel somewhere and get beat?
I guess we might could go on a run but we don't even have a leadoff guy that can get a hit. The batters guess at pitches and seem to want to get at bats over as fast as possible. I don't see this team making a run.
It might be better for CJJ to get some sleep, regroup, and focus hard on the transfer portal to get ready for next year.

Then say that. That is actually a valid argument when you look at LSU non conference schedule which includes a neutral site win against the #18 team in the nation. Outside of the SEC and ACC, LSU would probably be leading any other conference right now. There is something to say about their schedule they played.
But that isn’t the same as saying they should just be in bc they won last year. Especially when 80% of the team is brand new.
