I seriously doubt Florida needed to throw for 300 yds against Towson. Without looking I bet they rushed for a million.

Went and looked. FL ran 84 plays against LSU for 5.4 per play.

60 agains Towson for 7.0 per play.

Also, it doesn’t matter if the defense isn’t the best. The offense is. The defense has been good enough. Could tOSU keep up? Doubt it.

LSU opponents run more plays on offense against us because our offense scores do quickly. Consequently their offensive stats look better.

Lots of truth to the OP. Agree they are way better and then rub their nose in it when they get beat by an obviously weaker opponent.

Who would you rather lose to a NFL champion or a 0-10 div. 3 school? So don't even try to convince them that we are better.

****************************
LSU's defense has improved all season. LSU's run game has improved all season. LSU's passing attack has be ridiculously great all season. I like our chances!

Sounds kinda like LSU.

Keep in mind, teams playing from behind or in really tight games tend to throw much more. The examples he used are skewed bc our opponents won those other games and were in clock eating mode instead of catch up mode.

Maybe we give up a ton of passing yards because we are beating the shite out of teams and they have to get pass happy to catch up

But we won! And 2 plays for Bama accounted for 140 of those yards. Those 2-LSU/Stingley mistakes will not happen again!

OSU needs to worry about Penn St and Michigan not whether LSU plays soft defense

And just for the sake of comparison, Vandy only scored 24 points against Purdue.

Which is the exact same amount LSU gave up on defense

Absolutely true! Great work from the "defensive genius" that everyone on here makes excuses for. The one weak link on this team.

Y’all can brag all you want about how few passing yards you’ve given up, but keep in mind who you’ve played versus our schedule and level of competition.

Like I posted earlier, 89 less pass attempts against

Have you done any research into OSU's passing defense? I have watched almost very game of LSU and have watched every minute of OSU this year.

OSU has led by more points during this season than anyone else, so therefore the arguments in this thread that teams have to pass against LSU to catch up are doubly so against OSU.

OSU has faced 2 top 30 passing offenses. The reason why OSU has faced 90 less pass attempts is because their defense gets off the field.

Hell yea LSU has played better teams, anyone who doesn't admit that is a blind homer. But passing attempts relate to success as well, which teams are having more of against LSU than against OSU

Our defense isn’t stellar? Who knew?!

I thought our defense was stellar against Bama, and it's been stellar the last few weeks. LSU's defense made Bama punt a lot. Where they fell down was giving up some big plays that were the result of shoddy individual performance - mainly Stingley.

Three Alabama TDs came on a punt return, a bomb when our defense was looking at the sideline (kind of a trick play), and the ridiculous bomb when we should have been in a prevent defense. If Stingley does not give up that inexcusable TD at the end then the defense held them to 27 points with 7 of those coming on that trick play.

That's damn good! And Stingley will learn. He needed this. Failure is what really drives lessons home. He's just a freshmen. If we rematch with Bama I bet Stingley will be laser sharp.

up by 20 at the half w Bama.
final score: 46 - 41

who adjusted better ?
so much hate earlier for Coach O that Aranda has in large gotten a free pass.

Aranda still reminds me some of Pellini....although better.
He came, his D was incredible, then other OCs adjusted the next season and he had no come back.

Time will tell.
I see poor tackling stills....even Delpit, a great player is not a solid wrap-up tackler.

Something has to be wrong with Delpit. He is missing some fairly easy tackles.

Memphis (28) and who else? Were you really counting FAU, now 34, as part of that gauntlet of offense Ohio State has played against?

Meanwhile LSU has faced:
Alabama (4)
Texas (13)
Florida (24)

We haven’t played Memphis

Indiana is a top 15 passing team and FAU is right below UF.

We will see what happens in the next 2 months

How in the world can anyone seriously post this? I've seen it multiple times in this thread. Are LSU fans so myopic as to not see what tOSU is doing this season?

They lead in offensive points per game, but they also lead in points ALLOWED per game.

OSU is scoring 51 points per game, and only allowing 8.6 points per game. Does anyone not think that OSU's opponents might have to try to throw the ball to catch up just like LSU's opponents?

I see Indiana at 23 and FAU at 34. Neither would concern LSU in the least. Indiana isn't likely to finish in the top 30 given their remaining schedule. They ran up stats against really weak opponents.

While the D hasn’t been stellar this year, they have found a way to play really well for stretches of each big game which allows our offense to pull away. They are plenty good enough to win a championship on the individual level, they just need to perform more consistently as a unit.
