just did the research and the math. you are completely full of shite.

Innings played per homer hit, LSU drops to 4th in the nation.

1. Charlotte 4.0
Rutgers 4.0
3. Dallas Baptist 4.3
4. LSU 4.5
5. Old Dominion 4.7
6. So Illinois 4.9
7. N.C. State 5.0
8. Houston 5.1
9. Arkansas 5.1
10. Vandy 5.2

We drop to 6th in HRs/game. When you add in the extra innings it drops further. You did your math wrong. And you also have to look at innings other teams have played. Some are play 7 inning double headers.

ETA: if you want a true comparison with less work, you can do PA’s per HR. That way you don’t have to adjust for the extra innings, 7 inning games, and the home team getting one less half inning to hit.

ETA 2: probably better to use ABs instead of PAs though.

i literally went to each teams official website and looked under Inning Pitched by their opponent.
so used the EXACT number of innings they batted.
like down to the third of an inning

you are 100% full of shite.

The 6th number is on the same website as the OP linked. There was no work to do there.

You're missing teams like St. Josephs, Rutgers, LIU, Marshall. Southern Ill has 32 HRs in 15 games. The NCAA stats are wrong. For someone who claims they went to every site, you sure did miss a lot.

No man all good things LSU does has to be dissected to the point you figure out how it is actually a bad thing and CPM should be fired.

All bad things must be taken at face value no need to dig deeper into it and CPM should be fired.

Why is context bad?

This does not shock me. I feel like every one of your post could be used as a “tell me you work in IT without telling me you work in IT”

A bad thing no but if LSU had only hit 5 home runs because it was unseasonably cold and the winds were blowing in every game do you think people would be taking the time to justify the lack of home runs? No it’s the rant it would be CPM only recruits smaller than him slap hitters

That has happened though. It wasn't the cold but we blamed bats and the ball for years. We also talked about how we stack up relative to other teams. I've praised the new approach over and over yet here you are talking about CPM hate. He brought in Eddie, Eddie is making changes. It's a good thing no doubt. I like to have fun with numbers and I do this with everything... Covid deaths... cops killing certain people... I'll go and look at the data and see what more there is to the story. When I first saw the 33 total, you can see we've played more games than anyone except maybe Vandy. So it makes me dig deeper just to see exactly how we stack up vs others. That doesn't mean I'm not happy with the output.

OK, i'll admit i got lazy halfway down the list. But i'm not missing Rutgers, they're tied for 1st in my previous post.

but here you go.
This is every single team averaging more than 1 HR per game (according o the same NCAA link above). I used the more than 1 as a cutoff because unless you're also averaging 4.5 (absolute minimum for complete game) innings per game, you're not cracking the top 10 averaging 1 or less.

Homeruns and innings are as per each listed team's website this morning. (i did not update the games or HR/game column because we're discussing innings).

LSU plummets all the way to 7th. Meaning i was off by 3 spots.
A lot closer than your absolute guess that they would be 25th

Love it.

Fwiw, I did the AB calculation, too. LSU drops to 8th at 18.788 AB/HR.

St. Joseph - 14.182
LIU - 15.000
Rutgers - 15.882
So. Illinois - 16.406
Charlotte - 16.966
Marshall - 17.643
DBU - 17.815
LSU - 18.788
Old Dominion - 19.500

ETA: I think your Southern Illinois numbers may be off. When I went to their website, they had 15 games with 32 HRs in 124 innings and 525 ABs. LINK

Should we penalize LSU for hitting well leading to more ABs?
