Sometimes I just downvote random posts to see if the poster reacts

This is precisely why you don't sit Beloso. That average makes me choke like everyone else, but he gets on base and makes teams play defense. He's in my lineup until he stops getting on base. His K numbers will always be fine.

This is also what makes me sick about Milazzo, especially when he forgets how to receive the ball. .162 avg, .225 obp, slugging .189, 3 walks, 10 strikeouts. Good grief.

Beloso over 8 games the last two weeks has gone:

225/293/323

His walks have cooled down big time & he obviously isn’t hitting

He has so few strikeouts and HRs it’s going to be close to his actual average. You can do the quick math using the page on LSU’s site.

Didn’t think about that. Makes sense. He’s been incredibly unlucky this year.

The lack of power bothers me, too. Maybe that will come.

If the rest of these goons stay anywhere near this pace, we'll just need 8-10 from him.

A ton of his contact is pop ups & balls beaten into the ground

I don't know about a ton. I can think of a handful of hard hit balls that were outs right off the top of my head. That's how it goes sometimes.

Through 17 games last season, he was at .312 with four doubles, one triple, one dinger and 12 RBI. That's about how I see him, and where he'd be had some balls fallen. He also walked less last season, though. I just wish he'd get to the 8-10 HR range with more RBIs like 2019.

Lester, whenever you see a beautiful rose garden do you ever take time to stop and smell the thorns??

3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 hr, 13 rbi

Not a ton has changed. He was getting on base, but isn’t anymore. Hasn’t fit for power or avg at all.

I’ve only missed 1 game. I just haven’t noticed too much bad luck

Correct. Add 4 singles and a double to where he's at now, and he's top 4 in average...with the top 4 hitters in our lineup and just above our 5 hole hitter. Mind blown. And, yes, I know other guys have also hit balls hard for outs.

Yet, with the captain of the Titanic leading the troops, .500 in the SEC is the high water mark.
