The real question is why aren't we playing them at home instead of a neutral site.

Oh right, the powers that be want the money grab, that is the answer!

The same when we go there which irritates me too. We're playing them in Orlando instead of Tallahassee. I would rather experience their campus and their traditions. I am sure they feel the same about us. NFL Stadiums don't feel like college football to me.

Next year the coaching staff returns intact and we should have a good group of returning players. The team should be well prepared.

This year we were destined to start slower because of new coordinators and key assistants.

I’m sure we scheduled this in 19 when we were rolling.

Absolutely it mattered.

It mattered in 2002, when we lost to a Virginia Tech team we'd have beat mid-season.

If we play a cupcake to open 2021 (like the past two teams we played), Kiner gets on the field, coaches aren't as scared to play a true freshman RB against the blitz if he already has his feet wet (and we probably get better run production).

Johnson gets to play catch some with Smith and Bech, and becomes a little more comfortable with them... Boutte remains #1 choice but your 2nd and 3rd options are a lot quicker to look for. You don't waste time trying to figure out vs a P5 opponent who your 2nd option is.

Coaches have live-action film to review, and figure out spots you need to work on (linebackers, safeties need to read plays better). They still made some mistakes, but not as often or as glaring as Game One.

I'd state if you play UCLA next week, now knowing:
Kiner is your best RB
Bech is your safe outlet
Smith is a great complement to Boutte to push downfield
Defense beyond the D Line has to focus on outside runs
Linebackers need to account for crossing routes
Safeties need to watch those too

The game is a lot more competitive, and even- we may win.

Johnson would no longer drop back, look for Boutte, and if he's covered sit there and say "oh shite, now what?" until he gets hit.

What idiot is scheduling this? They need 1 or 2 stiffs to get up to speed.

Don't worry. Urban has a fantastic record against FSU.

I see what you did there. Man, I hope we can somehow get that guy.
