Saban did not care about LSU. The company i used to work for built him a custom hand made recliner with the eye of the tiger logo on it. His wife was the one that ordered it for a surprise for his birthday. A week later she had us pick it up to return in. She said nothing was wrong with the chair but he did not want anything with LSU on it in his first house in Br

Yep, and that is why their BYE week was ALWAYS prior to the LSU game....

Saban said by the time he was done LSU would be at the bottom of the SEC. One of the few things he was dead wrong on.

I disagree. I think he enjoyed beating us regularly and maybe felt disrespected by LSU fans after what he accomplished here. His daughter used to talk shite about LSU on social media. I always felt that was an extension of Nick's sentiments during family time.

Outside of ZERO SCHOOLS. The program has overcome two VILLAGE IDIOTS to win national titles.

LSU makes the coach. The coach doesn't make LSU .

With all that being said, just think if we had a good coach since Saban left. We would have a handful more titles.

I think it's fair to say that he still likes lsu.

But even more obvious it's fondness of Brian Kelly

I wonder if Saban is still worried about the safety of the defensive players when faced with an uptempo offense?

It’s no coincidence Saban went after Louisiana guys as hard as he did. Saban intentionally did things to try and bring down LSU.

I have always thought this is a very sophomoric comment. Saban recruits based on his team's needs and if that is a Louisiana prospect he recruited them like any other location. Schools have 25 scholarships and no coach wastes them on recruits so another school does not sign them.

I disagree. It was always weird how Alabama always seemed to be over their limit every signing day. He could recruit players and then ”process” them later, effectively taking them off the board. The requirement that a player couldn’t transfer and then play right away worked to his advantage. Saban may not have specifically made it a priority to target LSU but I do think it was part of his strategy to starve his competition of talent. The rule changes seemed to have really impacted him.

I don't think so . Saban spent 17 seasons at Alabama. Not many coaches stay that long at the same school these days.

Let's be honest - After bringing GumpU back from the brink (and the stink of him leaving for the Dolphins only to land in Tuscalooser two years later), I'm not sure Baton Rouge would have taken Saban back at that time under any circumstances.

Besides, if you believe all the talk about the REC running the SEC back then, why would he leave a place that built him a friggen statue and where he's revered as the next best think to Christ and double-wides? He did what Darth Hoodie couldn't do - built a dynasty and then went out on his own terms idolized as the GOAT (regardless of whether or not his career was at it's zenith or descending back to earth).

People will forever put Saban on a pedestal higher than Belichick's, and that's not something that would have happened if he'd returned to LSU after restoring the Gumps to relevance.

That's not to say he did (or didn't) harbor some love for LSU, but him staying at GumpU until he retires says nothing about how he feels about LSU - in either direction.

Was this in the broadcast last night? I must have missed that part.

At the very end. Also Kirk said volleyball, but should have said gymnastics.

This. And he knew Les and O weren't excellent. He clearly has respect for CBK though.

He was slobbering over Malik and BTJ last night at the NFL draft.
