I would like to see Herring or Little get a chance at starting but we still need good arms out of the bullpen. Keep Edwards in the bullpen and let him be the stopper and keep Shores in the bullpen in the role he is in and let him succeed. No matter what we need arms out of the bullpen to count on.

Don't see anything special about this guy at all...pitches alright for a short while then tanks. Good for maybe an inning or two in weekday games.
He gave Tennessee the game and kept us from getting the sweep.

Give Herring a start midweek and see how it goes. Love that kid.

I mean… he had it.

Well, if the guys in the Tenn recap thread are correct we won’t see Shores again this year.

Do you want to win a national championship or just get to Omaha? Hurd is the difference

Alot of baseball between today and Omaha, every pitcher on staff is or was good enough to get the offer to play for LSU and the coaching staff has to find one of them that can be a competent starting pitcher.

Hurd may be that guy and if not they will find a 3rd starter. One of the other pitchers may be the difference

Hurd will get better imo. The strike zone. Yesterday was ridiculous Blue missed easy strikes. Also Dugas was error prone in First inning 2 errors and 6 runs later. Hurd will get better. Jay has not given upon Hurd and neither have I. I remember last year everyone wanted Thompson on bench. Who wants him on bench now!!!!

Let him start the midweek until he fixes whatever is going on

Exactly. Obviously had a very short outing yesterday with 22 pitches. Let him start vs Nicholls Tues night and work some things out.

Hope we also see Bucknam Tues for multiple IPs.

The problem isn’t the strike zone it’s that his pitches Miss belt high and right over the plate. He can’t hit his spots. Hopefully he shakes it off and gets on his game. He has plenty of talent

Yesterday was a new low, but it wasn't just Hurd to blame. Atrocious play in the field led to Hurd's demise.

It is a bit frustrating that we are getting shaky results from our two transfers from other powerhouse programs—Hurd from UCLA and Little from Vanderbilt.

Edwards or Shores. At this point it’s not that complicated.

LSU has a Saturday and Sunday starter problem. All we heard was how much pitching they have, but they don’t.

Really showed his arse on Friday night. Very nice performance worthy of a bigger opportunity.

I’d give Hurd some work during the midweek but put him back as the Game 3 starter vs the back half of our schedule.

No more top 10 matchups there.

Hurd needs to go to mid week to figure it out, Shores is our future weekend starter but may need to move up into the Sunday starter role sooner. Herring could be another potential Sunday starter ; strike thrower with very nice velocity and a second pitch. These guys will both be weekend starters ! Let coach make that choice!

If shores is really hurt then hurd has to be the guy we were told he was supposed to be. He’s coming off a back injury and hopefully he will
Find his groove.

One of the best kept secrets on this team is Guidry. He can bring it. All he needs is the green light.

I think we are likely to see Little try Sunday role.

Edit: maybe for a temporary breather for Hurd then give the ball back to Hurd on Sunday if he can get back on track
