Just saying you lose 2 games and you are totally done. Thats bullshite, everybody plays bad games. You should have a chance to get back in the race if you are truly a good team

All that would do is water down the regular season

4 team playoff is perfect (for now). Keeps the regular season exciting and gets rid of the BCS controversy

8 seems like the perfect amount of teams to me.

Nope. What makes college football great is that small margin of error that makes EVERY game an important game.

3-loss teams have absolutely no business playing for the national championship. None. I don't care how well they are playing at the end, the entire season has to matter. Each game ha to matter. It is what makes college football the greatest regular season in sports. Adding 8 more teams would bastardize that.

And what about a team like marshall? 100 bucks says if they go undefeated they miss the 4 team playoff.

It's why I like 16... give the 0 or 1 loss outliers a chance to prove it on the field.

More kids will get hurt and not be able to play in the NFL because of your desire to watch a couple more football games. Don't be selfish.

This. I liked the BCS. These kids, although treated like professionals, are not. Professionals only have to worry about football and get pensions for the punishment they take. We expect these guys to study and be broke college players all the while we want them to play 16-17 games a year (assuming 16 team playoff and conference championships). Pundits and anyone associated with covering this industry are not worried about crowning the most deserving team. They are concerned about having more teams involved because it means more eyes all around the country watching more games in more regions of the country. Tired of seeing these salty guys on tv complaining about how dominant the SEC west appears to be. I don't need college football mimicking the NFL. I watch both and they are supposed to be different. I have no problem with the MLB expanding playoffs for more eyeballs. That's what some folks want to happen to college football, but they're not professionals. Folks are too greedy though and just feel the need to destroy it.

Also why would Bama be ranked higher than Miss?

Cause they are better than Ole Miss and have better wins... Why isn't LSU rated above Ole Miss?????

I liked the BCS or the 4 team I like that college football losses matter more. Regular season is more important.

Yup

The season has to matter. This can't become like basketball. Even the NFL is flawed--the Giants won a Super Bowl in a 9-7 season recently which is ridic.

I seem to be alone on this, but I recall that the polls have precisely ZERO influence on the selection committee... The AP/Coaches could look COMPLETELY different

I like the way it is in high school here in Louisiana.

32 teams with no human element involved at all in determining seeding. Power rankings, SOS, and how you play determine your seeding.

I don't think 12, but I could definitely get on board with 6, maaaaaybe even 8.

I don't think 4 is really any better than the BCS--it's still too constricting.

4 is enough. The years when the BCS failed were bc there was 3 deserving teams.

It's never going to be enough. The foot is already in the door for the playoffs. We'll continue to see it expand further.

Sucks.

So? 10-6 nfl teams win the Super Bowl all the time. That's the point of the playoff-you can make up for your past losses.

Should it go to 32? Definitely not.. I think 6 would be good for a few years to see how it works. I like your idea of not playing overtime though.

The problem is that the number of teams that deserve to reach the playoffs changes every year.

8 teams. Five major conferences get an auto-bid, 3 at-larges. First round hosted by the higher-seeded school, then go to the big bowls for the round of four and championship game. Contrary to what people say, that in no way destroys the regular season. There's no taking the last few weeks off like you do in the NBA and NFL, as your seeding is still up in the air or you could lose your at-large.

And start it as soon as possible, it sucks having the BCS system where the top two teams take a month off and then play. It throws all of your rhythm off.
