This has nothing to do with “Wokeism” or whatever dumbass phrase used. And everything to do with a Head Coach and Athletic Director not handling it properly. Do y’all think this type of situation rarely happens….. on college campuses….. in 2022?

Over the last year or two, there have been a lot of conversations regarding gymnasts of color speaking about their experiences. The topic of the N word has been one of them. Gymnasts from Florida and Bama have discussed issues and I even believe Lloimincia Hall discussed an incident as well. If the Coach and Athletic Director had done their job, then this would not even be a distraction.

I’m glad this young lady is at LSU and hopefully it’s a fresh start for her. But do a little more digging on how this conversation has been evolving over the last few years.

Well LSU is a lot more woke than it should be, but I for one am glad she's transferring. Is she suing UCLA yet? If not, call Gordon, get it done. Racism and harassment have no place on campus.

Ahhh, but this type of music is protected as “art”. See the Super Bowl Halftime lineup.

So black students scared her off because she's apparently too white I guess.

Weird take.

Not hot, only odd.

And, in my experience, generally incorrect.

How about not listening to crappy "music" in the first place?

A lot of racist, safeguards here. A song is not a free pass to use a racist term. Is that a double standard? Yes, but it's a rule. You can do things to your own that others can't. It's never ok for a race to repeat a word that is racist. Nothing to do with woke. That's just your excuse.

From the outside looking in, I don't think she meant anything by it, but none of us know that. If she was told she offended even just one person and she apologized, I think lesson learned and they should have been coached up on how to grow together.

Get out of here w/ that $hit. Don’t want to hear the word, don’t put it in lyrics - here’s the distinction. Did she call anyone in her presence that? No. Did she use that term to describe anyone in a derogatory manner? Then game, set, match.

This is some woke, Cali, liberal BS and it blew up in UCLA’s face. Welcome the young lady to the rest of the World.

I’d be much more worried about black people committing exorbitant amounts of interracial violent crime compared to their white, Asian, and Latino counterparts than this. That’s the real racism

It isn’t so much about race as it is about toxic personalities. UCLA obviously has toxic and cruel team members. It’s too bad for them.

The irony is SO thick coming from this poster.

And harassment (putting a dead fish in someone's locker) and telling a student to kill herself should warrant an immediate suspension of the other students involved.

Do you think that happened?

Is a song a free pass for a male to repeat misogynistic lyrics?

What progress! It’s so great that this is all the racism these girls have to deal with. Someone repeating a word from a song they themselves know and sing. The horror.
