What a dissapoiting thread. I would've imagined with all the people predicting a double digit win against Texas there would be more stories about how much money people were betting based on the current line.

Don't you have your own Texas board to go post on? I can't stand posters that spend more time on an opponents site than their own team. You'll be here annoying people until 9/7 when UT gets their sh!t pushed in, then we'll never see you again.

I spend far more time on the Texas boards. I'm sorry you're so offended by comments.

Ahh preseason. Trying to predict the result of a game in a matchup of teams we've never seen play a single game

That meshes well with an overall odds picture that paints Texas as a team with a chance for a monster season this year. Westgate projected six of the Longhorns’ games for 2019, with Texas favored in four of those contests, along with the pick ‘em against LSU.

Something doesn't add up.

wouldn’t the game vs. Ga Southern who is missing their starting QB yet the line remains unchanged be easier money?

He's been reinstated.

The only thing Vegas favors is more people betting.

Yeah--it's your reading comprehension. Westgate put out odds for Texas's six biggest games. In those 6 games they are favored in 4, pick 'em in another, and dogs against OU. They're favored in their remaining games. Being dogs in only one game entering the season jives pretty well with having a chance for a monster season.

Being the second game, a new offense not tested, on the road, against a very good QB, I feel the game is a tossup.

if the line was LSU -3 and it moved to pick-'em, it means the book was flooded with TEXAS money. So many bettors wanted Texas +3 that they had to move it all the way down to even to stem the tide and get more LSU money. If you think LSU is going to win, then even is a much more attractive bet than -3. Texas even is much less attractive than +3.

And they don't set lines to maximize profit. In theory, as shown above, they set lines to try to get even money on both sides, so they can break even on the bets and profit from the vig. They can accept imbalances up to whatever extent they're willing to gamble.

I think the line will go back to LSU -3 after game 1.

Vegas now favors Texas

Love it, would rather be the underdog just like the Miami game.

If Texas is similar to 2018 Miami with the hype then a win wouldn’t be all that impressive?

What a misleading title in your post! The article actually states it is a pick'em game (i.e., neither team is favored). Vegas does not favor UT. Change your title.

Must be a longhorn that can't read.

I miss that old UT board. They had some damn funny threads on there. Especially the MSFT paint threads.

This game IS a toss up, no matter what the fan base thinks.

UT has a coaching edge at HC and OC, plus they are at home.

This game reminds me a lot of Wiscy 2016. LSU shite the bed hard in that one.
