We have an excellent starting 5. Our problem was always going to be our depth. This takes several recruiting classes to fix. USCe had 5 players drafted last year and had depth. Recruited well and their bench are now key returnees. CKM is doing things the right way.
What a different team we would be with Smith, Poole and Poa today. That’s the difference folks. For the tourney, Lady Tigers need to foul less and play more under control. Take better care of the basketball and use our inside/outside game, hi-low more we Reese/Morrow. MW also has to find her mid-season form asap. I wouldn’t want to play LSU next few games.

This team is ready to roll at just the right time. We should be healthy for our 6 game run. Mulkey is going to have these girls running through brick walls.

I think if Angel & HVL come back, our team next year will be what we thought we’d have this year. Finger crossed they come back

Losing Smith and Poole were big, more so Sa'Myah who was basically another experienced big who was scoring 10-15 points a game. Poole at least had lots of experience and did some nice things on our title run.

Unfortunately the 2024 recruiting class was a total bust (unless Sarah Strong commits) so they will need to be very aggressive in the portal and fill up the roster a bit more for depth. I also think our freshmen class (MK, Rosario, Kent) taking that jump like Flaujae/Smith did will be big for us long term.

And there was rumors swirling around Reese was leaning towards coming back for a 5th year for what its worth so that would be huge for next year if it happens

1. We need to sign Sarah Strong, 6'2" PF from NCarolina this April. She is nation's number one recruit. If Carolina gets her, their class will be much better than anything we could throw together. (I think it comes down to LSU or UConn or SCarolina)

2. If Angel or HVL leave in May, we will need a couple of transfers to improve depth.

3. Some GREAT news is we will have Sa'Mayah Smith back next season. She can play both O and D and runs well.

You don't play back to back to back days in the NCAA tourney missing key depth pieces against the most physical team in America that is being allowed to pound you into the ground every trip down the floor with no fouls being called
