Thanks! I was doing my math based off of my dividend from last month, but I fat fingered something. Makes sense now.

A Robinhood Gold account will pay 5% APY on all univested cash. That's as liquid as it gets. FDIC insured up to $2.25m. Gold account costs a $5/month fee.

I appreciate you bringing this to our attention way back when. In my self-directed retirement accounts, I’ve been dropping dividends and option profits into USFR. Great vehicle to use. Thanks.

Every single day. But I day trade. Longest I've ever held a stock is probably 8 months. Made a whopping 0.5% on the trade. I prefer small, daily victories.

USFR is north of 5.3% with essentially infinite liquidity and no need for FDIC insurance as it's in US Treasuries.

So it's the highest rate on offer with infinite daily liquidity.

Recommended HYSA?

I've been using CIT Bank online, 5%+. Extremely easy setup, and I just transferred a pile back to my checking account for a quick cash home purchase. Way easier than I was expecting.

But the 4.75% you mentioned is specifically from the monthly dividend that my USFR would pay out. Is that right?

Yes, although it's well up over 5% now.

This is a confusing statement, these funds are not paying out the yield monthly. The yield is a yrly yield and the percentage is based on the previous months average rate, correct?

It's the gains and divi that add up to the yield. Which last check is somewhere around 5.4% currently.

Sec30day is 5.38, here is a pretty good article that articulates how this calculation works.

Can't thank big scrub enough for pointing out this fund, have had all my cash sitting in usfr since looking into it because of this thread. I dont see anything else with the same yield vs liquidity sweet spot this thing has at the moment.

Depends where you look. Many sites quote trailing yield which can be misleading. Best place to check the annualized yield (which is changing weekly) is Here.

Thought I'd bump this given the recent move up in rates. We seem to be in a "higher for longer" environment, so I like USFR as much or more than when I first created the thread last year.

Presently, it's yielding around 5.47%. That's a solid 20-40bps higher than the Schwab money markets I usually compare it to.

With the 10 year up to 4.6%, there's an argument for extending duration now. I don't really want to, personally, as I think it's "higher for longer"...for awhile.

I still like leaning into the extreme front end and milking it for all it's worth.

Thanks for the bump. I missed this before and will likely be selling my business soon. USFR looks like a great place to stash $ while deciding on next steps.

Sure thing - just be aware we are (probably!) closer to a time where it could be the right move to extend duration than when I first made this thread.
