I just pull for several different drivers now.

I'm partial to MTJ, Reddick, KFB, and Chastain. I think Denny has really come into his own lately too, and I like a lot of his opinions about the sport and how vocal he is. If I had to pick one I guess it'd be Kyle.

I was a Harvick fan. Now I'm kinda partial to the international guys. I've always been a fan of Suarez. SVG seems like a cool guy to pull for. Dude's just a wheelman. He will be the best international driver in NASCAR history when he's done over here. I was a fan of Ambrose when he was here. Wish he could've gotten behind the wheel of a good car.

You're not making it up. Austin is the reason Kyle Busch ended up at RCR. Austin is far from a likable driver to me, but he's had a respectable run. 4 wins are more than over 100 race winners in Cup. Only 85 drivers have won more races than him. He's had a career better than at least 75% of all Cup drivers.

Look at all the press Bubba gets and he only has 2 wins. Austin has double that amount and way less press

If he gets to his 60 win goal, I agree. If he is close, he is gonna race until he gets that

And Denny Hamlin still hasn't won the championship. That is all.

Denny drops the mic if he wins a championship. He's absolutely the type to retire as a champion.

People really want to pretend this dude is anything more than a slightly above average driver who has been propped up by great equipment his entire career because of his name.

I think he's one of the top drivers right now, but at this very moment, I think he's got the third best team at Hendrick. Larson is a better driver with a better crew chief. Byron and Rudy Fugle work better than Chase and Gustafson. Since the playoffs began in 2022, both Larson and Byron have been better. Chase is capable, but he needs to prove last year was a fluke.

Crazy stat. Daytona 500 in 2021... Chase had 11 wins. Larson had 6. Since they've been teammates, Larson has more than doubled Chase's win total. 16 to 7.

Just finished the first episode of the new netflix show, and it was pretty good. Very Hamlin-focused. He seemed like a d-bag, but was also a straight-shooter. A remnant of the attitude we got out of drivers back in the day. Seemed pretty likable. They also featured Byron and the two 23XI drivers.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr 150/1

Michael McDowell 200/1

I feel like these two drivers have been racing a long time but have never really been able to put it all together.

Anyone else agree or disagree?

Sort of. When McDowell was with Michael Waltrip Racing, it was before that team took off and started becoming really successful. He then bounced around lower budget teams before landing at Front Row Motorsports. I think he has done well at FRM, but obviously that ride isn’t as high quality as Hendrick, Gibbs, etc.

Stenhouse did well in the Xfinity Series with Roush, but when he got to Cup, Roush was entering the period where they weren’t particularly competitive, which they’re just now coming out of. He’s at JTG Daugherty, which like FRM with McDowell, isn’t a bad ride but also isn’t a top tier ride. Stenhouse should have left Roush earlier than he ultimately did.

They both have something a lot of drivers don’t have, though: a Daytona 500 trophy.

He's won on every level he's been in, starting w/Bandaleros at Atlanta Motor Speedway as a tyke. His talent is legit. He had a bad year, a really bad year. He'll bounce back. But I think it was more Gustafson then Chase.

Chase wasn’t the same after the injury last year but I think he turns it around this year. I see 3-4 wins for him.

My championship 4 prediction

Larson
Hamlin
Byron
Reddick

Just watched the first episode of the Netflix show. Pretty good. I thought they did a good job of explaining things about how NASCAR works for those who haven’t watched it before.

His talent is legit

If you're an above average driver in Cup you're obviously very talented. Only like the worst 3-5 in cup just don't deserve to be there at all and are only there because of money.

Chase has been in a top 2-3 car in the field 95% of the time hes on the track. Look at his braking and acceleration data from his incredible road course performance run... its not that he is just an absolute savant at road courses (though he is very good at them), his car was just capable of things the others weren't. That crew doesn't get half the credit it deserves for road course setups.

Really enjoyed the netflix show, will be interesting to see who all is featured on it. I have always wondered this and really thought it after the show but I think Denny is somewhat on the spectrum.
