Good.
At least they are rewarded with a bowl game.

Is USF in at 6-6?
That gives the AAC six teams.

Only one APR team gets in and it’s Minnesota.
Miss State just missed the cut.

LSU plays 5 bowl eligible teams of the possible 9 teams in the SEC and want to claim the top SOS. Then have losses to 2 of the 5.

Whether you win or lose isn’t a component in determining SOS, unless something has changed.

I understand that, but claiming it as a talking point for a Heisman winner is dumb. It's like "look how hard our schedule was, ignore the three losses to the three best teams on our schedule which inflates that ranking"

Is it though? Even if the competition played against a SOS 30 to 40 spots lower? How would his stats gap improve against a relatively weak schedule? How many yards, tds, and losses would the other guys have if they played against a much stiffer schedule? You really think those considerations are “dumb”?

Now you're playing hypothetical. You can't play that when deciding an award winner. That's actually ignorant playing the "what if" when it has no baring on a decision
Facts are that LSU has three losses to the best three teams they faced. Those games inflated their SOS. There wins are against weak competition. Any of the other statistics for Daniels wins him the Heisman. This SOS actually hurts his chances.

Looks like South Alabama vs Eastern Michigan in the 68 Ventures Bowl (in Mobile).
Sucks the Jags won’t get to travel,
but hopefully this is a winnable game for them.
