Look to his line. Brees is still very much elite. Everyone said Brady was done through 4 games when he looked awful. What changed since then? His offensive line improved dramatically and he got Gronk back at full strength.

This is a team sport. Give Brees an offensive line, and he would show you how elite he is. But he cannot block for himself or catch his own passes.

The fact that he is still so highly ranked in those major categories speaks volumes.

Speaks to how valuable he is to this team. Without Brees and a truly mediocre QB, We would be a 3-win team at best

Why are so many of you idiots missing the point of the OP?

What about turnovers?

Middle of the road, which has been very frustrating. He's obviously going to be positioned to throw more picks than the average QB, but that's been amplified by his circumstances this year, no doubt. Doesn't excuse some of his shitty plays, but people need to put it all in perspective.

Not really sure how pointing out the stats of one player who is top 10 in everything is average/mediocre when the defense couldn't tackle a fat shite drunk puking in the middle of the field after a 36 hour binge on Bourbon.

Most who have watched the Saints this year would note that the Saints have not been blown out other than by Dallas and haven't really blown out other teams this year. I

Saints losing at home to Carolina by 31 wasn't a blowout?

If he is in a system that will create more ints, doesn't that mean he is also in a system that creates more pass yards?

I don't think people are getting that OP is defending Brees.

But Brees doesn't need that.
If you watched more than two games this season, you'd know all this was unnecessary.

No, I get it.
His argument in another thread was that drew throws a lot of picks because of the offense, but wouldn't that mean he is passing a lot and getting more yards because of the offense?

Well I don't really care about that. He's mocking the people saying Brees sucks by pointing out the stats.
But somehow people think he's bashing Brees,

You should venture over to the Saints Talk.

Brees is far from mediocre. He's top notch. I'm just tickled all these Saints fans are finally recognizing that I takes more than one guy. Because for years here in my Cowboys thread all I heard was how bad Romo sucks

70% completion percentage with that many attempts is phenomenal. Plus Graham dropped quite a few and played hampered all season. Colston aging and cooks to IR with this shitty o line.. Brees was pretty damn good considering.

Haha, you're right, I knew I was forgetting something. I was thinking of Cincinnati but I was like no, not a blowout. I guess I blocked out Carolina.

Correct, that's the whole point of pointing out YPA. He's still Top 10. Granted, the dynamic shifts when you account for the fact that he's basically the entire offense, other than in rare, isolated games in which we enjoy more balance when Ingram goes gangster.

I've said before, I'll say again. He's not a HOF QB. He used to hold exciting records, but the best QB from his generation beat those records.

He's above average, and really good. He isn't all time great.
