Fields has always been a one pump chump in the pocket. It's apparent to any non-OSU fan that has watched him play.
The people that get paid to evaluate tape and actually put their name behind what they're saying are consistently saying he goes through his progressions just fine.

Why are some not letting others criticize Justin Fields?
Wait I know the answer

I remember how that Griffin experiment went. A QB suffering multiple concussions and other injuries before he flamed out like a falling star on a dark night. It's not just about building around someone's talent level, Baltimore is doing that, a smart OC like Shannahan wants a full progression read guy that has the instincts to process it. No amount of athleticism will replace those qualities.
In my life, the only time I've seen where having great wheels at QB really mattered was when they had a great arm and instinct to go with it. Steve Young, John Elway, Fran Tarkenton moved their feet with a purpose but had the passing savvy to pay it off.
My point was that Shanahan will adapt his offense to the talent on the roster. He won't force the talent on the roster to run an offense that he used with a different roster. He'll have his core principles, but he will be flexible.

An OSU QB without proper fundamentals? No way

Hell, I can remember about 4 throws just from the Clemson game that were check downs to his last read in Trey Sermon
So his last read of 2 reads? Primary not open? Check down to Sermon!

Sorry bro just accept that your school has QBs who rely solely on physical talent and athleticism.

Size, strength, speed, and after watching/listening to his interviews, he’s the kind of guy you want.
Hell, I don’t even think he’s been playing football that long - but I could be wrong on that.
Either way, it’s Lance at 3.
Trading up to 3 to grab an insanely inaccurate QB. That's tough.

So Garrett Wilson is going to be a top 10 pick is what you are saying?

Someone pulled that out of their arse because it’s not even close to accurate.

Orslovsky is having to backpedal bigly this AM now that the woke sports media is on him for hurting Fields stock
Posted on 4/2/21 at 10:45 am to Bench McElroy
Well if the primary target is open why should he go on to 2 or 3?
But in reality who made this stat up? Do they know the reads of tOSU offense?

Hate on Mac for playing with talent around him, but Joe had the most talented team in the nation in 2019 and he gets a pass.
Well, Burrow showed that he could produce in the NFL. We can say these things about Jones because he hasn’t

This is also the qb that got beat out by Jake Fromm and had to make up a fake racism story to get his transfer. This guy doesn’t have the mental capacity for the nfl and this stat evaluation proves it

We're they open? That's kinda important

There are things to question about Mac Jones, but the narrative that scouts have been duped by his supporting cast is stupid. If they were, they would’ve drafted several other Alabama QBs first round as well.
Like Tua?

I just watched all his NCG drop backs and am laughing even more at this 218/225 stat. It's not even remotely close to true.

So you think the 49ers should take him over Jones??????

Well I mean he very well could be the top WR taken next year. He's insanely talented.
Going back to Fields the problem is no one knows what the read progressions are. If he looks off a safety by looking right but always had the deep shot as his "primary" it will likely be labeled as he went to his primary guy. However, he went through reads to manipulate the defense before he made that throw.

This is the play I was thinking of
