Recent tOSU QBs looked like Fields and have bombed spectacularly in the NFL. They are simply not prepared for the NFL by that offense, which relies heavily on talent advantages.

It doesn’t mean fields will be a failure/bust, but it means take his stats with a grain of salt. Same goes for Mac Jones. He’s a good QB that looked great with the help of having more talent around him than any team he faced both at OL, RB and WR.

He may be good, but like I think he likely won’t be a top 10 QB in the league anytime soon. He hasn’t had to make the hard decisions and tight throws consistently and barely faced any pressure.

Who? Haskins is NOTHING like Fields. Burrow was at least partially developed by OSU and he seems to be fine.

Barrett was never an NFL player

My point was that Shanahan will adapt his offense to the talent on the roster. He won't force the talent on the roster to run an offense that he used with a different roster. He'll have his core principles, but he will be flexible.

My point is, that if you have the number 3 pick in the draft you also don't have to compromise your standard and settle.

And I'm sure the kid that fought like hell to have a season when he had nothing to gain financially,

What? He had a lot to gain financially by performing well in 2020.

I don't question his work ethic, because I don't have anything to base that on. But he appeared to me to have a poor, selfish attitude on the football field. I would be shocked if he turns out to be a good leader in the NFL.

How? Lawrence was locked into the 1 pick before the season. Fields was pretty much considered QB2 and a top 3 pick lock.

There was minimal financial incentive.

How so?

Mac Jones is going to be a bust if he goes that high. 90% of QBs would look phenomenal behind that O-line, throwing to those receivers and handing off to those backs.

Analytics actually say he's not going to be a big time qb at the next level.

Which analytics would those be?

He basically Drew Brees when he left Purdue. If he hits with the right team he could be a Pro Bowler

Fields is Dwayne Haskins 2.0. Let’s be honest, talent wise, only like 2 of these QBs should actually go in the first round but because shitty teams are desperate to find one, 5-6 of them will.
