KU basketball will be fine as will B12 basketball in general because it doesn't take the kind of money to be successful as football does. Plus, you've got a blueblood, marquee, basketball program with Kansas that draws eyeballs.

But when it comes to football there is no marquee program. The conference might be competitive, but who cares? The Sun Belt is competitive too. B12 football just isn't going to pull in the viewer numbers it needs for a competitive TV contract.

They picked up the best teams they could. Still better overall than the Pac12. Still an excellent basketball and baseball league. Honestly they aren't that much weaker than they were before.

How the future TV contracts break out without the blue bloods is the question.

Yup. The new Big XII will play good football and with a 4 team playoff should still get a team in more years than not.

Just not sure if they will make any money and if anyone will see them on TV.

Cincy won’t do as well playing in a tougher conference.

The only other playoff team the big 12 ever had is going to the sec.

It really does seem strange that Memphis didn’t get an invite
