Denver's goalie made ridiculous saves.

My first time watching college hockey was like in 1988 I think, may have been 89, Lake Superior State be St. Lawrence in Over Time and I swear in that OT there was like 5 or 6 pucks hit the bar I was like, hell I never heard of these colleges but its some exciting stuff.
I always liked Hockey in Bama since the mid 70s we had the Birmingham Bull, we were called the Bullies, we held the record for Professional teams for penalty minutes for many, many years, teams were afraid to come to town. Here is a strange thing however, in our last season, the management wanted to change it up, try to build a legit team with youth, and when the NHL expanded and took in some of the WHA teams like Edmonton etc. etc. we had a few future NHL Hall of Famers on that team.
The WHA folded so our players were drafted. We had 6 players drafted in the first round. Some platers o that team were Michel Bernard Goulet (Hockey Hall of Fame/HHoF). Rod Langway (HHoF). Rob Ramage first overall pick 79, won two Stanley Cups (SC). Gaston Gingras, won Stanley Cup with Montreal.
Other notable players were Pat Riggn, Goalie, Craig Hartsburg and one old vet coming towards the end of his career, Paul Henderson.
Birmingham finished in last place that year, but the Coach won coach of the year trophy, the league realized he had put a massive load of talent together on one team and had done so to try and change the image of a Thug team who would beat the hell out of other teams in the two prior years, but in Bama, to start with, that was what made it so exciting. We loved it. Ahhh, memories from the windmills of my mind.
