I’m a huge rockets hater (spurs fan) but yea the rockets seem to be on a good trajectory. I hope our rivalry heats up if wemby is the real deal

Pretty sure the rules did change, the spurs will have to extend or sign somebody too they are way under the cap

Hate them, but they built the way you expect.

Load up on good, young talent.

If they got a veteran big man it's game over. I'm just happy it's guards where they have a plethora. Lol

It would have to be very recent. The Pacers and Pistons both flirted with the line the past couple of seasons. Those articles stated they would just have to pay their own players. I don't see that as an issue or a penalty. I wouldn't spend just to get past it..

The Rockets owner wants to win now.

They are littered with young guys that were just ball-hogging and jacking up shots with Green and Porter. The Rockets needed two things, Alduts in the locker room and perimeter defensive help.

FVV is that adult in the room that can settle them down, get them into sets, can shoot, and is an excellent off-ball player.

For all his antics, Brooks is still a good perimeter defender that as sporadic as it may be, Still has a better offensive game than Eason.

These were decent signings for a team that had to spend their cap space and couldn't go another year Watchung Jalen Green chuck up shots showing he isn't a #1 option.

They are doing just fine. And they have Ime Udoka running the show. And this guy can coach. Meanwhile, Boston is stuck with a nonexistent defensive assistant coach wannabe.

Heads up: Watch next season when Jaylon Brown becomes a free agent. He loves Ime Udoka.

Udoka is very unproven.

Remember he had will hardy on his staff who is a stud up and comer, he had Mazzulo who ran the defense, and he also had Damon stouadmire who left during the season.

Mazzulo had none of those guys on his staff this past season, and the end result was not very different from when Udoka was the coach.

Not sure that it’s been mentioned in the thread, but the Brooks deal supposedly has a declining salary structure. So that makes their worst signing this summer, a little better financially.

That’s in line with what other past tanking teams do in their 4th season since blowing it up. And it’s the 5th year when they should expect to be around 50 wins and in the playoffs.

I rather the brooks signing over the van vleet one. Brooks is one of the best perimeter defenders in the league and if his bad shot selection can be reigned in he is good player.

Bingo we have a winner. FVV and Brooks bring some experience to this team which it needs. Brooks will bring some defense and toughness and FVV some offense. Love what they have done so far.

Van Fleet lead his team to a title. That heady vet experience is needed in H town.

2 things have since become public knowledge both via

-The #Rockets had a deal in place for Lopez agreed to and Lopez blindsighted them

-The ATL deal was agreed to to open up space for Lopez

Lopez went back on his word, the Rockets didnt want to do the same to ATL

Danny ainge recently said there is not one person in the building in Boston Who thinks Udoka is a better coach than Mazzulo. Udoka is a set the culture kinda guy, but not much of a basketball mind. Like a John Lucas type. Tbh I am not all that high on him without an all star assistants group.
