What’s the last example of a QB that was as protected as JJ was at Michigan becoming elite in the NFL? The guy didn’t even throw a pass in the second half vs Penn State

A lot of these draft “gurus” base their predictions off of they think the scouts/teams like. Some of the info may be intentionally put out there for all we know too.
In reality no one outside the team scouts and others involved in the front offices really know what the value of these players are to NFL teams.
Everything from now (including in the OP) up until draft day are rumors. Some will be true and some won’t but trying to laugh at other people disagreeing with the “pros” doesn’t make a lot of sense when you yourself don’t know if the OP is actually true

He was banged up in that game and they decided they didn't want to deal with PSUs pass rush anymore.
Somebody has to teach him some touch. Every ball seems like a line drive. I don't remember many deep balls connected except when guys got wide open against OSU in 2022.
I know the injury history, but I would definitely take a shot at Penix late first round.

I’m not sure what you mean by the OP being true. But I’m laughing at people that make declarative statements like he will be a bust or the GM that takes him will get fired. I will always laugh at people that say he will be a bust because no QB from his school has done anything or been drafted high lately or QBs from his conference or that he a random bad game. Laughing at that will always make sense.

I have no idea what you mean by “game manager” or who would even be an example. What’s really funny is it wasn’t that long ago message board scouts insisted QBs that run the “spread” or the “run and shot” or running QBs can’t succeed.
My point is we have no idea if he will be a good pro or not, but neither do any others in these threads. He might in the right situation

Mitch Trubisky, Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Dwayne Haskins, Mac Jones, Zach Wilson and Trey Lance were all highly drafted (top 15 selection) quarterbacks who ended up sucking.
Josh Allen, Mahomes, Burrow, Tua and Justin Herbert are highly drafted quarterbacks in the same timespan who ended up being good or elite.
There is a lot of middling/serviceable in between, such as Baker, Kyler Murray, Daniel Jones, Fields or Trevor Lawrence.
The relatively even spread of good, okay and shitty shows to me that highly drafted quarterbacks are a crapshoot.
