There are always a few retard teams each year that y talk themselves into a qb that has no business going as high as he does.

He is another Daniel Jones. These game managers at the college level don’t translate to elite in the NFL. I just don’t understand the hype with this guy.

This pissed me off way more than it should have

It's that time of year again folks, where NFL teams send up false flags like old sailing ships meeting in the Atlantic Ocean.

It’s not even that time yet. NFL teams, execs, and coaches are just now starting to get serious about their draft boards.

Some scouts across the league like McCarthy, and that’s not a big surprise. However, his draft stock will ultimately be determined by GMs and coaches.

If no one trades up, I think the Falcons take him.

I don’t see it. He was a good not great college QB that benefited from a system/team that didn’t need him to win games.

He looked very average.

Given that it won’t shock me to see the saints overvalue, trade up to get him and set the franchise back even further.

I’m on record as saying he’s my QB4 weeks ago. He got all the intangibles and way more athletic than most would think.

When I look at McCarthy, I see Alex Smith. Similar size, frame and athletic skill set. Crazy success in college. Almost identical stats. Very smart and well-liked by their teams/coaches.

He won't go #1, but he really would be the perfect fit in Chicago. He's from Illinois. A ton of Bears fans are also UM alumni. It's very similar to Burrow going to the Bengals. Fans love that stuff..

If this hype is real, I think the Chargers trading down is a no brainer for them. They have an old and expensive team that could use a jolt of draft picks.

4 QBs going in the top 8 would be an amazing situation for the Bears. Would fersure drop Nabers or Rome to 9 to partner with Caleb.

Um, no. The Bears would be absolutely insane to pass up on Caleb for fricking JJ McCarthy lol

Does every quarterback in the NFL have to be elite? After the first three picks, every team would like to draft a long term starter in the first round

Who knows, but if you give me the list of the GMs fired between 2025-2027, that’ll narrow it down.

Based on what? Sheer talent?

Williams is special. But so is Fields. It takes more than that to win and be successful as a franchise. They need a leader and a foundation to build upon. Williams only cares about himself and his brand. He'll have one foot out the door and won't ever be bought into Chicago. He's already trying to force a trade.

I wouldn't do it. They should trade back and trade Fields, then draft McCarthy. Find a bridge vet QB and build out the rest of the team..

You are saying that Fields isn't a special talent?

In this day and age, yes. Game managers aren’t winning the SB anymore.
