Which is what I was lampshading with my post the guys known for their Danza abilities on the convention set. Will's BBT personality is directly inspired by all the tales from Conventions.

Billy Zane as the actor in Tombstone, as the Phantom in The Phantom, and in Demon Knight.

Dude is great in everything he does and is severely underutilized.

Adrian Brody in The Pianist

He had the lead in the King Kong movie with Jack Black. Also had the lead in the last AvP movie.

Mark Hamill

He will forever be Luke Skywalker, but he is a very accomplished voice actor who's most famous role is the Joker on various Batman series and games.

It just isn't an animated Batman show/game without Hamill as the joker or Kevin Conroy as Batman.

I guess it depends on how you view the question. Is the actor famous for their body of work, do they have one defining role, or were they simply a one hot wonder.

BMath, I meant both but which ones have parlayed that one role/iconic role/very few roles into fame that is way out of magnitude.

In music one hit wonders become a joke, on tv they become nerd gods on the Convention circuit.

When I see Rainn Wilson I think Dwight from the office. So when I watched "Super" he was totally believable to me in that role because I could picture Dwight going out and doing something like that.

Fair enough. Let me ask you this though. When you think of 007 do you think of Sean Connery, or when you think Connery do you think 007?

I always think of Jack Bauer when I see Kiefer Sutherland. I watched a little of that show he had out in the last year or so, where he had the kid who didn't speak but had all these math things going on in his head. In one scene he gets beaten down, and I just couldn't help but think that Jack wouldn't have gone down like that.

Others that come to mind are Terry O'Quinn as John Locke on Lost and Macauley Culkin as Kevin McAllister on the first two Home Alone movies.

This was my argument as well. When I see Hamill I think Luke Skwalker. If I watch a Batman cartoon I expect to hear his Joker.

Concerning 007 I think of Daniel Craig because he fits the books closest.
