Hadn’t played a single game and only knew the general premise of the setting. Greatly enjoyed the show.

Know nothing about this franchise. So is it worth a watch from someone with no idea about anything to do with the lore?
I'm someone who didn't play the games (too old, I guess)...

My answer is hell yes. Great classic sci fi premise, with fantastic execution of the story and high production standards.

I also didn't play but did watch HALO, and my impression was that that had some potential, but fumbled a good bit on the execution. You kinda had to know something of the games to get what was going on, but the gamers didn't like the way they adapted the story.

In this, you really don't need to know the games. It's pretty straightforward what the background story is (that sets the stage), and then they do a good job of developing the different characters (I guess those would be player classes). You really get to know and like at least 2 of the 3, I think there's some hesitance to embrace one of them... but that one may be written that way intentionally.

What's great is you can't really find an agenda... there are some things that clearly could be, but then don't develop that way.

i read that the game runner didn’t want the show to be about a specific plot from the game. It’s an open world game anyway. So it’s as much about the setting as the plots, Which is why every game can just be its own stand alone story.

And wouldn’t Overseer 33 have recognized her from hundreds of years ago anyway before they went through the wedding.
I read through 5 pages of this thread to find this. When I finished the final episode, I went back and watched episode 1 when vault 33 opens vault 32 to introduce Lucy to the arranged marriage, followed by Hank talking to Moldaver like they’ve never met. I still don’t understand what is going on here.

When did they meet? Cooper met her pre-war but I don't remember any of the Vault-Tec people meeting her or any mention of having met her before. Other than Hank saying he knew who she was but that seemed more related to her post-war reputation and her association with his wife as opposed to knowing her by face.

season 2 is slightly better than season 1 of Halo, but the best parts from the games would honestly begin in season 3, they still have time to improve.

I enjoyed parts of season 2 a lot, but hated other parts.

the Reach game was better than the show though IMO.
