I’m on episode 6 and I think I missed something. I get the impression at the beginning of the show, that the bombs dropped 200 years ago. Yet in other episodes characters are talking about how they were alive when the bombs dropped (Maximus).

What did I miss?

Lucy was more well rounded and showed more character growth in 1 episode than Rey did in 3 movies.

Keep watching. It’s explained.

The bomb destroying Shady Sands is what Maximus thinks of when someone mentions the bombs because it took everything from him. It's the context he has.

Everyone else for the most part, other than when they mention of the bombing of Shady Sands, is talking pre-war bombs

Two different sets of bombings. 200 years ago was the original nuclear war, the Maximus one is when Shady Sands was nuked when he was a kid in the flashbacks.

I never knew I wanted a scene with Goggins and Matt Berry shooting the shite, but this series delivered just that

If they could find a way to shoe-horn Olyphant into an episode...
Now I want this.

That would be a heck of a trifecta.

In the Todd Howard interview I posted earlier, he indicates "bombing" doesn't necessarily mean Shady Sands was nuked.

And wouldn’t Overseer 33 have recognized her from hundreds of years ago anyway before they went through the wedding.

I thought she did. It seemed very odd.

Would make more sense that way I suppose, but the devastation was pretty intense for it to be regular bombs (would need some serious aerial attacks to do it).

I think we'll find out a lot of what was going on in New Vegas since McLean was probably following orders from someone there.

Is this series going to become canon? I might have to do a massive playthrough of all the Fallout Games then to get this whole story.

There is a mission in Fallout 4 about a ghoul boy trapped in a fridge since the bombs dropped. Though that was probably also inspired by Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

I would think really the only pertinent games are Fallout 1 & 2 (Take place in California) and Fallout New Vegas (New Vegas a decade prior to the events of the show).

Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 take place in DC and Boston, they aren't really relevant to the show at this point. Maybe future seasons take stories from those areas with different characters / story though.

They did have a body in a fridge outside of a blast zone with the jacket and hat like Indy but I do know of that ghoul you're speaking of as well.

Has this thread delved into Synths yet?

Yeah, going back to my Brotherhood comments on the previous page, ours out West is obviously a different chapter (probably integrating elements of Caesar's Legion), but the main thing that comes to mind possibly linking those two is their airship.

It looked really similar to the one in Fallout 4 used during the Commonwealth/Liberty Prime storyline, which if true means it would've travelled across the entire country for some reason in the decade since.

Or none of this is canon and Jonathan Nolan just added it because it looked cool.

Yes this series is canon within the fallout series. And this show will probably be our fallout 5 for now until bethesda decides to make a new fallout game.

Bethesda is releasing a "next-gen" update for Fallout 4 which will be released on Thursday.
