You don't know who Nathan Fillion is?

Rachel Brosnahan?

Nicholas Hoult?

Never watched Barry to see Anthony Carrigan in it?

It seems unlikely you wouldn't know 3 of those 4 actors.

Yup.

That and Brosnahan as Lois is basically perfect casting

I really enjoyed Carrigan's version of Victor Zsasz in Gotham.

He owned all the scenes he was in as Zsasz and was the co-best thing about Barry. Barry just had so much awesome going on, you can’t put Barry, Fuchs or Noho above each other.

Only 1 of those people is a different race than the comic character, Otis.

Not just the actors, but the character decisions themselves.

Whatever. The fact they fricked over Cavill and are basically making Superman a side character in his own fricking movie is ridiculous.

What's ridiculous is you jumping to conclusions about the film. So, tell us about the script?

Blame Zac Snyder for creating a terrible universe for his characters

What would Cavill have to do with this?

You think all of these actors have signed on for 2 pages of the script? Damned thing is going to have more characters than Endgame.

Did you expect the film to have 3 characters in the entire thing?

He just fundamentally didn't get Superman and that's a real problem if you're making a DC Universe. To have Superman killing Zod, to have Jonathan Kent suggesting that Superman not try to save people - that's so wrong and against the character.
I've been reading a lot of Superman anthologies lately - someone praised Warworld on social media recently and I gobbled it up. Superman is a big Eagle scout, who believes the best about people.

I'll say this again, and again. No he's not. That's the Christopher Reeve version of him- which I grew up on and loved. In the original Superman comic (#1 you can read it) he was an intimidating enforcer who patrolled looking to give corporate bullies and wife-beaters their comeuppance. He was the wish fulfillment revenge of a couple of young, slight bodied jewish kids. The guy who would right the wrongs of the world and give the bullies their due. There are many different versions of Superman, depending upon who is writing him and the time they were written.

Zack Snyder's Man of Steel is a great film, though it did have its flaws. Zack Snyder is not a fan of comic books, he is a fan of graphic novels. The whole intent was to bring a comic book character into the real world with graphic novel aesthetics. I too was a little jarred by Jonathan Kent's portrayal, but I enjoyed it for what it was, a modern sci-fi movie with realistic character takes inspired by Nolan's Batman. I'll admit that the final fight between he and Zod coupled with defeating the World engine gave me a bit of sensory overload in the theater- I had to watch it a few times to really be all right and enjoy it. But the battle of Smallville was absolutely what my adult self wanted to see after Superman and Superman II, which my child self loved and adored.

It was not a perfect film, but it was very good and becomes better upon rewatches IMO. It's not THE
Superman, but it's a version rather.

Superman is a great character, perhaps the best. I'm hoping James Gunn makes a great movie.
