I like the Ramones but it's absurd to rank them ahead of the Clash or the Pistols or even Blondie as far as lasting influence.
James Brown's Sex Machine is one of the most influential albums of any decade but I guess you could argue that funk is it's own thing.
Dire Straits' debut seems a glaring omission as well.

I don’t have a problem with the list, although I’m not really a Rush or VanHalen fan. They bring to mind
Teenage suburban white boys. NNothing wrong with that, but my taste is a little different.”

Wasn’t that on A Night At The Opera?

and

that's both of them
ETA: they came out in 1973. What a decade!

I assumed the OP meant changed it for the better but I guess he didn't specify. Heavy metal definitely followed KISS down that style over substance path for a decade or more.

Boston
The Cars
Toys in the Attic should all be in there

How did Born to Run change music history?
Maybe deep purple Fireball or Machine Head
Might not have changed music history, maybe I’m just too much of a Ritchie Blackmore fan.

I’d add the big FU to disco and insert The Sex Pistols
This was a defining moment in the music industry.

I would drop The Ramones because they suck and replace them with Boston.
