Any other big fans of him here (I don't post on the music board often, so hopefully I'm not starting an often covered topic).

I have been having A Sailors Guide To Earth for a while and always liked it, but recently have been hooked on it. Thinking about picking up the rest of his stuff. Is there any other album in particular people would suggest over the others?

I will be honest, of his three albums, I liked Sailors Guide the least. Metamodern and Hightop Mountain are both really good albums.

I like Sturgill, but this sounds kind of boring.

I liked Sailors Guide a lot when it came out, still do, but I wore it out. It's a solid album, but I think Metamodern is his best and most interesting album. The blend of psych rock and country was just awesome.

Saw him at the Saenger last year. Great show. Maybe the best country singer alive.

Sturgil May be coming close, but protege Tyler Childers is in the rise. Catch the tide now so you can brag to everyone about your excellent taste in music

Big loss having Laur Joamets leave the band. Curious to see who replaces him.

I really like Tyler, but he doesn't have nearly the range or musicianship that Sturgill has.

I thought it was too, until I saw Sturgill a few months ago. I had no idea he could play the guitar like that. Really blew me away.

The definite Stirgill album ranking is Metamodern then Hightop then Sailor’s

Anything else is just a lie.

Metamodern is an all-time great musical journey.

If you like Sturgill, check out Tyler Childers, who put out a solid album this year.

This song probably gets my vote for song of the year:

How can it be played out unless you are just playing it too much yourself? It’s not like you’re just randomly hearing him.
