BI/Larry to Hawks

Capela to Nets

CJ/JRE to 76ers

Dejounte, Day'Ron Sharpe, S&T of Claxton (3/$45M) and S&T of Tobias (3/$90) to Pels.
Hawks send 1st to Nets. Nets send Hawks some 2nds back.

Also need the ok from Tobias that he's not starting, but he will be playing 30mpg.
Dont' resign JV.

Start
Dejounte
Herb
Trey
Zion
Claxton

A closing lineup of Dejounte/Herb/Trey/Tobias/Zion could be really good. That's 4 really good C&S 3 point shooters and Tobias is a really good defender. On top of the shooting, they are all good enough to be productive when run off the 3 point line. All 5 of those guys, assuming Zion gives the effort, can rebound well.
Dejounte, Herb and Dyson were top 20 in the league in deflections. Zion was in the top 50 post all-star break. That would be a very long and active switching defensive unit.

Bench of:
Tobias
Sharpe
Hawkins
Naji
Jose
Dyson
Bring back Zeller on minimum
Draft at #21 with $2.7M contract
sign Matt Ryan to $2M

That's 14 players (i'm sending EJ somewhere as well) with a payroll of $157M, which is $14M under the tax so if we wanted to use the full MLE we could.

Hawks do it to match someone else up with Trae, who they couldn't trade for good value, and get off of Capela's contract.
Nets do it b/c they have no control over where Claxton wants to go, and they don't mind Capela's expiring contract, and they get a 1st.
76ers want more offensive help for Maxey in the backcourt, and Tobias and the Sixers are both ready to seperate (that's just me hoping).

I don't want a Dejounte/CJ backcourt. I want a Dejounte/Herb backcourt, and CJ is unlikely to come off the bench and i'd rather the size and defensive ability of Tobias.

Those are some really good hypothetical trades, imo. Every team gets better, with the exception of the Nets.

I’m not sure Val just walks for nothing…unless he is going to a team with cap space, we would likely sign & trade him to his desired destination.

Now he could pull a Mirotic and play Euro ball I guess, but you could get a decent contract back to be a backup big/PG potentially….

We need to get an equal, but better fit than BI. Bridges anyone? Would that work straight up?

And move CJ and Jonas for decent rim protector / pick and roll defender. Someone who can move their feet! As much as I love Jonas, he has lead in his shoes.

Trey steps into start. We still have Jose hawk and dys on the bench. Maybe we keep Naji that way too?

I dunno. Blah.

I think I move bi first. See what you get back and how it gels with cj. If it doesn't work trade him at the deadline.
